Today, I'm proud to share the incredible journey of Asith Wijenayake from our R&D department, who recently embarked on a 23-day trek to Everest Base Camp. This journey was not just a physical challenge but a testament to the grit, determination, and perseverance that define #TeamPurple colleagues. 🚙 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗕𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 Instead of taking the usual flight, Asith and his team of 12 Sri Lankans, including two guides, chose the old overland route to Everest, adding an extra layer of adventure and challenge. 🏔️ 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗸𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 Crossing the Hillary Suspension Bridge: A thrilling experience high above the Dudh Koshi River. Namche Bazaar (3,440m): The bustling gateway to Everest. Tengboche Buddhist Monastery (3,860m): A spiritual stop. Ama Dablam Base Camp (4,570m): A scenic side trek. Everest Base Camp (5,364m): The ultimate destination. Kala Patthar (5,545m): The best panoramic sunrise view of Everest. 🏕️ 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 & 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 Altitude & Acclimatization: Adjusting to thin air above 5,000m+. Extreme Temperatures: Night temperatures dropping below -32°C. No Connectivity, Maximum Connection: Disconnecting from the digital world to fully immerse in nature and team bonding.
