The European Commission has today announced in the Clean Industrial Deal that the EU is actively maintaining its ambitious framework to achieve a decarbonized economy by 2050, with a target to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by 90% by 2040. Amid geopolitical and economic uncertainties, these goals are more important than ever to ensure a timely energy transition and maintain competitiveness, requiring both swift and large-scale action. Ingrid is proud to be driving this transition forward with our flexible solutions and grid optimization, enabling faster and more efficient deployment of renewable energy across Europe 🌍 Some thoughts: - Lowering energy prices is key to competitiveness. To achieve this, we must consider the total cost of energy - both electricity prices for end consumers and rising distribution costs caused by grid constraints. Ingrid is already today tackling this bottleneck by optimizing the grid and alleviating constraints. - As integration grows, it’s crucial that these ambitious European energy goals and policies are effectively translated into clear, streamlined policies across all member states. - Collaboration is essential to be able to transition on time and make Europe competitive. Entrepreneurs, businesses, policymakers as well as system operators and planners must come together and act now - scaling innovations and making them competitive across borders. Below are pictures taken during the team’s visit to the European Parliament in Brussels last week. Ingrid's Ibrahim Baylan, Lisbet Ersson, Nicklas Bäcker, Ebba Reinfeldt, and Niklas Möller met with policymakers to discuss how we can accelerate this transition together 🇪🇺 Thank you for great and insightful discussions Emma Wiesner, Tomas Tobé, Alexander Meijer, and Adnan Dibrani. Let’s continue collaborating for our common future! #CleanIndustrialDeal #Flexibility #Grid #Tech #Energy #EU

Last week, Axel Holmberg, Andreas Langholz, Regina Leandersson, and Robert Nordin from Ingrid attended the Energy Storage Summit in London - a great opportunity to engage with industry leaders and explore the future of energy storage. Both Axel Holmberg (CEO) and Andreas Langholz (Head of Tech) took the stage in two panels, sharing insights on: - The value of AI and digitalization in energy storage - How to become a portfolio player in a coming-of-age market Some take aways from the event were: 💡Energy storage is crucial for supporting the renewable energy buildout in the EU, with Germany leading the way, followed by the UK, Italy, and France. 💡As innovation accelerates, longer-duration storage is becoming the norm, unlocking new revenue opportunities. Leading examples, such as the UK’s shift towards 6–8 hour storage systems, and the anticipated dominance of LFP batteries (20–40h) by 2040, demonstrate how innovation is driving both improved storage efficiency and new revenue streams beyond ancillary services. This rapid technological progress enhances the financial viability of projects, enabling early-stage financing. 💡Optimizing grid usage is key. AI-driven solutions are paving the way for a smarter, more cost-effective electricity grid, leveraging technology to improve efficiency and unlock new opportunities. A big thank you to the organizers for an insightful event and the opportunity to contribute to these important discussions! #Energy #Tech #Grid #AI #SolarMedia #EnergyStorageSummit

🎙️ Ingrid @ TECHARENA 2025 Today, our co-founder John Hunter joined a roundtable discussion on the topic "Electrifying the world – Where should we focus for a scalable and sustainable energy future?" A big thank you to Techarena and Johannes Dahlberg for the invitation. A big thank you to the insightful conversation Anna Ljungdahl, Senior Investment Director at Industrifonden, Morgan Sheil, Head of impact at World Fund, Johan Outinen, CEO of Elvy, Tim Bestwick, Chief Technology Officer and Director of Strategy at UK Atomic Energy Authority, and Claes Hemberg who excellently moderated the session. Key takeaways from our discussion: 🔷 Energy security, price competitiveness, and decarbonization must go hand in hand. We need a balanced approach that ensures both affordability and sustainability. 🔷 Europe’s competitiveness depends on access to cheap, fossil-free electricity. Our continent has immense untapped potential—from abundant solar in the South to vast hydro resources in the North and offshore wind along our coasts. To unlock this, we must integrate our electricity system even further, not less. 🔷 Batteries and flexible assets are critical for a resilient energy system. They play a key role in optimizing grid stability, accelerating renewables integration, and ensuring a more robust and cost-effective electricity network. Insights from the discussions on and off stage throughout the day: 💡 Competitiveness and resilience are the new black. Industrial competitiveness and national resilience are now top priorities for policymakers and businesses across the EU. 💡Green is still hot, but there’s no room for green premiums. The energy transition is happening now, and it must enhance—not hinder—economic strength and national resilience. 💡 Simplifying regulations is a must. Complex policies often create more challenges than opportunities for businesses. We look forward to seeing how the Clean Industrial Deal will address these barriers. A great day of discussions and inspiration at Techarena — looking forward to a great evening and an energizing tomorrow! 🚀⚡ - - - Mikaela Sundström Sandra Lindholm-Wu

💡 Reflections from E-world energy & water: The battery energy storage boom in Germany 🔋 Last week, Nils Hallberg, Lisbet Ersson, and Simon Berglund from Ingrid Capacity joined E-world energy & water in Berlin as part of the The Swedish Energy Pavilion, organised by the German-Swedish Chamber of Commerce and the Swedish Energy Agency. As Europe’s largest energy trade fair, E-world was a powerhouse of insights, connections, and innovation! Did you know that Germany is set to become the world’s third-largest Battery Energy Storage (BESS) market by 2030, with an estimated 15 GW of installed capacity? 🤯 This presents huge opportunities—but also key challenges—for market players, grid operators and regulators. Here are some key takeaways from our discussions: 🔹 Germany's demand for flexibility is massive (a.k.a. the "BESS frenzy")—reflected in attractive market revenues, high investor appetite and soaring grid queues. 🔹 All mouths are not fed and competition for high-quality flexibility assets is fierce. While tolling agreements remain the dominant off-take structure, new investment decisions may require increasingly bespoke solutions. 🔹 The grid construction cost surcharge ("BKZ") is a major economic factor, causing ongoing frustration for developers navigating project economics. A huge thank you to the German-Swedish Chamber of Commerce and the Swedish Energy Agency for organizing such a fantastic platform for collaboration. We are energized by the conversations and proud to drive Swedish energy innovation alongside incredible partners such as Absolicon Solar Collector AB, Algorithm Energy AB, Arkion, CanaryBit, Eliq, Emulate, Enduce, Flower, Kiona, Metacon AB (publ), Mivo Technology AB, Qurrent and Utilifeed. 👉 Let’s shape the future of energy together!
