This week our subsidiary in India is celebrating Diwali. Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is a significant festival for Hindus, Jains, Buddhists, and Sikhs. It celebrates the return of Lord Rama, his wife Sita, brother Lakshmana, and Lord Hanuman to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile and the defeat of Ravana. The festival, which marks the New Year in some countries, occurs in late October or early November and lasts for five days around the new moon in the Hindu month of Karttika. During Diwali, lamps are lit to welcome Rama home, symbolizing kindness and the triumph of good over evil. The goddess Lakshmi, representing happiness and wealth, is also honored. Homes are decorated with signs and altars for Lakshmi, featuring incense, oil lamps, water, and flowers. Candles are lit in homes, farms, and shops, and placed in rivers. The festival includes visiting relatives, exchanging gifts, enjoying various dishes, singing, dancing, and setting off fireworks to ward off malevolent forces. #lidköping #india #diwali

Last Friday we delivered one of our largest machines, a SUUC 600, to a customer somewhere in the world. After the machine left us, it will go to the harbor for sea shipment. It takes about 10 weeks across the seas. At the destination port, it is transported by truck to the customer's factory where it is set up. Idag har vi på UVA LIDKÖPING nåtts av det tråkiga beskedet om att Motala Verkstad Group försatts i konkurs. I denna koncern ingår Lidköpings Mekaniska Verkstad (LMV). LMV:s verksamhet var tidigare en del av UVA LIDKÖPING men avyttrades 2008. LMV har fram till idag varit en trogen underleverantör till oss för diverse maskindelar.  UVA LIDKÖPING hoppas att situationen för LMV kommer att lösa sig på bästa sätt.

It is great to get feedback from our customers around the world, especially when it is positive!   Our controls upgrade team just finished an on-site installation of a new Siemens Sinumerik One system. This time we were at a bigger customers production site, to upgrade a LIDKÖPING CL660 centerless grinder. The upgrade on site only took 3 weeks to finish, and the customer was very satisfied with our team and the result. This is the feedback we got:   “We appreciate strong support and good achievement of your team. Even though there were some unexpected issues like strike, difficulty of removal of old components due to worn out and pending issues of previous project. Two engineers from India were great engineers and they achieved all requirements from our company. Once again, thanks for your effort and achievement.
