- “It’s like we’ve become the robots” - “AI is supposed to make our lives easier, but I just see it as my boss” ...these quotes from an article (in comments) about how AI is being used in Philippine call centers struck me as quite dystopian. Under the label of “making humans more efficient” support agents are themselves being turned into automations. And customers are not stupid - they FEEL this "robotic touch" when talking to support. IMO, this "middling" and "robotisation of humans" isn’t doing anyone any favors. Companies should either enable support agents with AI tools but let them provide great support freely, or be honest and fully automate the calls with AI. Humans on both sides of the call will appreciate it. #aisupport #selfservice #supportautomation
