Metacon has signed an add-on agreement for PERIC's pressurized alkaline stack technology for large electrolysers Metacon has signed a supplementary agreement to the existing OEM License and Manufacturing Agreement that was announced on 25 January 2024 with PERIC. The Supplementary Agreement gives Metacon the right, based on the existing license agreement, to also manufacture the so-called "stacks", which are the central modules in the electrolysis systems where water is split into oxygen and hydrogen. At the same time, this opens a completely new and potentially very large and long-term business for Metacon in the aftermarket, as these stacks are designed to be able to be picked out and undergo regeneration at a cost-optimized time for each customer. The Supplementary Agreement also extends the term of the first phase of the overall license from five to eight years from the start of production. This week, our factory in Patras, Greece, had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Frank Hamelmann and Mrs. Luisa Noetzel from Protectum to discuss our HHG50 and reformer systems running on biogas. Dr. Hamelmann is a highly regarded expert in the biogas plant industry, with Protectum having delivered over 1,000 biogas projects across five 5 countries over the last years. In connection with the publication of the Year-end report, CEO Christer Wikner and CFO Mattias Jansson visited Inderes for an interview. In the interview, Christer and Mattias discussed the recent quarter, answered viewer questions, and shared their views on the ongoing project with Motor Oil (in Swedish).

Today, we published our Year-end report for 2024. "2024 has been one of the most eventful and successful years in Metacon's history. In 2024, we increased our order intake compared to the previous year by almost a factor of 5, from EUR 4,2 million in 2023 to EUR 19.8 million. We have worked hard to scale up our organization, continued to invest in product development and established new collaborations to meet market demand. Through these initiatives, we have now laid the foundation for our future growth, strengthened our competitiveness and moved from managing small-scale projects to designing, leading and delivering large-scale electrolysis projects," says Christer Wikner, President and CEO. The Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson has invited the public to a national moment of silence following the tragic and violent incident in Örebro, Sweden. The moment of silence will take place today at 12.00. At out headquarters in Uppsala, we will participate in this moment of silence and light a candle that will burn throughout the day as a symbol of our support and compassion.

Metacon increases its involvement in Pherousa and CO2-free, ammonia-powered deep-sea shipping Metacon has, through its wholly owned subsidiary Metacon SA increased its shareholding in its Norwegian related company Pherousa Green Technologies AS, now re-named Pherousa AS (“Pherousa”), to approximately 35 percent of the capital. At the same time Metacon and Pherousa have signed a new updated exclusive license agreement for Metacon’s ammonia cracking technology for use on board vessels. Furthermore, Metacon SA has entered as a project partner in the EU-funded technology project Safecraft, accessing a total of KEUR 265 in project funding.
