Last week, Mips had the privilege of participating in Dr. med. Julia Schmidt's Equestrian Sports Medicine Symposium in Hamburg. Held on November 16th at Hamburg's Volksparkstadion, the event with slogan "Horse riding with rhyme and reason," attracted approximately 100 in-person attendees and a large online audience via Instagram livestream. We are grateful that the symposium organizer, Dr. Julia Schmidt, a specialist in orthopedics, trauma surgery and sports medicine and Association Doctor of Hamburg's Horse Riding and Driving Clubs, invited Mips to take part. It was a great pleasure for us to present the opening lecture, in which Madelen Fahlstedt, PhD and Biomechanical Specialist from Mips, explained the dangers of equestrian-related risks and raised awareness of dangerous rotational motions among all participants. This symposium gave us valuable insights into the head protection needs and preferences within the equestrian community. It was a great event and we extend a huge thank you to Dr. Schmidt for this opportunity!
