📢 Event Recap 📢 On February 6th, Jan Pedersen, Director of Technology at NCAB Group, had the pleasure of speaking at the Circular Business Lab Meetup at Printed Electronics Arena, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden in Norrköping. It was a fantastic event filled with insightful discussions on circular materials, printed electronics, and sustainable PCBs. Nimrod Ruck, Business Development Manager at NCAB Group Sweden, also attended and had the opportunity to engage in interesting conversations that we look forward to following up on. 👏 A big thank you to the organizers and everyone who attended—your engagement made this event a great success! We look forward to continuing the conversation on the future of sustainable electronics. Interested in learning more about our sustainability efforts and our work on #circularity in #PCBs? Did you know, the electrical test process in #PCB production is used for checking the integrity of the tracks and the through hole interconnections – checking to ensure there are no open circuits or no short circuits on the finished board? There are two test methods, flying probe for smaller volumes and fixture based for volumes. #ncabgroup #NCAB #PrintedCircuitBoard #PCB #ElectricalTest #ElectricalTestProces

💡 How to make a reliable PCB – 4. Drilling💡 The Drilling step includes X-ray drilling and Mechanical drilling. After lamination, all internal reference markings that shows where we want to image the outer layers and where we shall be, in relation to the position of the inner layer features, are now hidden in the multilayer panel. In simple terms, the X-Ray is used to find the internal reference markings on different cores. The equipment then figures out the best alignment for drilling, ensuring we align with the internal pattern. Once this is determined, new tooling holes are drilled in the panel to help align the multilayer in the next steps of the process. Drilled holes are essential as they, once plated, serve two purposes. The first is to create electrical connections between all the layers, usually going through the entire PCB – this is called a via hole. The other is for solder through-hole components - that is the component hole. There are also non-plated holes used for housing alignment or securing the PCB into its final product. 👉🏼 Watch both processes in the Drilling step here: https://lnkd.in/engPpTxq

With potential U.S. tariff increases on PCBs from China, a diverse supply chain is more critical than ever. While exemptions for two- and four-layer boards remain until May 2025, higher tariffs could disrupt costs and availability. At NCAB, we’ve identified reliable, cost-competitive alternatives to help customers stay ahead. Learn more in our latest I-Connect007 column by Jeffrey Beauchamp: https://lnkd.in/grR_pUTC
