COP 29 once again highlighted how no nation or industry can tackle climate change on its own. This week, Novatron Fusion Group AB, represented by CEO Peter Roos and Public Affairs Advisor Mårten Löfberg, had the pleasure of welcoming Sweden's State Secretary at the Ministry of Climate and Enterprise, Daniel Liljeberg, along with Maja Lundbäck, Political Adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden and Minister for Energy, Business and Industry, to visit the Novatron Fusion Lab at Kungliga Tekniska högskolan (KTH Royal Institute of Technology). Yesterday, Ambassador Jan Björklund spoke at the first ministerial meeting of the World Fusion Energy Group organized in Rome. The conference at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs brought together representatives of businesses and governments from around the world, aiming to highlight the great potential of fusion for creating safe and sustainable energy in the future. Ambassador Björklund emphasized that leadership in cutting-edge technology is a high priority for the Swedish government, including the development of fusion. He also mentioned that Novatron Fusion Group AB was the first fusion-related company to receive funding from the EU. Furthermore, the Vetenskapsrådet / Swedish Research Council is developing a strategy for Swedish fusion research. Sweden remains committed to advancing fusion research and addressing energy issues. The ambassador finished his adress by welcoming the World Fusion Energy Group and its future initiatives, stressing that through continued investments, collaboration, and innovation, we can achieve a prosperous and sustainable future. Our physicist Katarina Bendtz, PhD participed in the round-table discussions with Prima Materia’s Daniel Ek, CEO and founder of Spotify at KTH Royal Institute of Technology this week. Daniel Ek is an alumni of KTH and shared his advice and experience to the audience on his entrepreneurial journey which was highly appreciated. Katarina got the chance to talk about fusion and the development of our Novatron 1 at the Alfven Labratory at KTH. She highlighted the importance of fusion as an energy source in the green transition and that is sooner than ever.
