We are thrilled to introduce the bright minds who will be steering the master thesis projects under the PONTOS initiative, dedicated to unlocking the potential of ship operational data for a more efficient and sustainable maritime industry. Meet our future innovators(left to right): Karl Lundgren, Erik Norlin, Arvid Sörfeldt, Aditja Barman, and Fathima Hisa Faiyaz. These talented students are set to derive new knowledge and solutions based on the ship operational data hosted in PONTOS-datahub. 🔹 Karl and Erik will delve into predicting fuel consumption with machine learning while accounting for environmental conditions, such as wind and waves. 🔹 Arvid and Aditja will explore electrification of small vessels. Using two fishing vessels that operate in Kosterhavets national park, as study cases. 🔹 Fathima will develop anomaly detection algorithms for sensors onboard vessels. Stay tuned as these projects unfold, promising to bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to the maritime industry.
