🌿Today we announced that the reconstruction of Plantagen gains legal force and is thus completed. We are now fully focused on the future and Plantagen’s upcoming peak season!🌿
The decision of the courts in Norway and Sweden to approve the reconstruction plans, which were announced on 16 January 2025, have gained legal force in both countries. The objective of the reconstruction has been achieved. As a result, Plantagen now has lower costs as well as lower debt and a lower capital requirement.
The objective of the reconstruction was to ensure long-term sustainable and profitable operations, with the necessary conditions in place to meet customer needs, and to build on Plantagen’s market-leading position in Norway and Sweden. This objective has now been achieved, and the measures taken have significantly improved the company’s prospects to ensure greater financial stability through lower costs, lower debt and lower tied-up working capital.
“We have now laid the foundation for a more financially viable company with stronger operations. I would like to thank Plantagen’s management, all of its employees and its various stakeholders for their contribution to the success of this initiative. In a market dominated by high inflation, which has impacted both cost levels and consumer purchasing power, these measures were necessary. We are now fully focused on the future and Plantagen’s upcoming peak season,” says Jonas Wiström, President and CEO, Ratos.

Vad betyder egentligen ledarskap?

😊👷♀️🏗️ Exciting news this morning : Ratos consolidates construction operations in new company – Sentia 😊👷♀️🏗️
Sentia marks the creation of a leading Nordic construction group with a focus on projects with the public sector and major private sector customers. Sentia includes the subsidiaries HENT AS , with operations in Norway, and SSEA Group, with operations in Sweden.
The consolidation will create better conditions for sharing expertise and collaborating on large, complex projects in Norway and Sweden, enabling the subsidiaries to develop and become more competitive.
“Basically, the two companies have performed well and proved their strength, and now they will have an even better foundation. HENT and SSEA Group already collaborate, and we have seen clear synergies – not least in terms of sales. The consolidation is a natural next step to create an even stronger platform to drive growth, while maintaining good profitability. Together, the companies will have a greater impact on the Nordic construction market,” says Jonas Wiström, President and CEO of Ratos.
“Both subsidiaries will become stronger by sharing their experience, particularly in project development and collaboration/partnering. We will have a larger network of customers, a broader market platform, a larger supplier network and greater flexibility in terms of expertise and resources. Sentia will prioritise responsible growth, with a focus on safety and sustainability,” says Jan K. Jahren, President and CEO of HENT and Sentia.
“We share a corporate culture centered on being a team player, having short decision paths, engaging in continuous learning and having a strong desire to deliver results. The best testament to the value we can create together is the successful projects we have already collaborated on, such as Sara Kulturhus in Skellefteå, Kunskapsstaden in Kiruna and Ersta Hospital in Stockholm. All of these were large, complex projects and were handed over to very satisfied customers. Through Sentia, we will be able to deliver more successful projects and become more competitive in major tenders,” says Christian Wieland, CEO of SSEA Group and Vice President of Sentia.
HENT and SSEA Group are continuing to operate under their own brands in Norway and Sweden, but as subsidiaries of Sentia. Jan Jahren remains the head of the subsidiary HENT and is also President and CEO of Sentia, while Christian Wieland is continuing to lead the subsidiary SSEA Group (including SSEA, Vestia Construction Group and KIRUNA MÅLBYGG AB) and serves as Vice President of Sentia.
Feel free to look at the video below: Jonas Wiström, Jan Jahren and Christian Wieland interviewed by Josefine Uppling about what to expect.

Latest news from Ratos: Happy to tell that the Plantagen restructuring is approved
Plantagen in Norway and Sweden have been undergoing restructuring since August 22. At the end of December, Plantagen submitted proposals for debt settlements with the creditors. These proposals have been accepted by the majority of the creditors and today approved by the respective courts in Norway and Sweden.
Since August 22, 2024, Plantasjen Norge AS and Plantagen Sverige AB have been undergoing restructuring to ensure continued operations. The court approvals of the debt settlements in both countries means that the purpose of the restructuring can be achieved.
When the court decisions have gained legal force, the companies can exit restructuring. This is expected to take place February 18.
