The Summer Book film starring Glenn Close premieres in Sweden tomorrow! Set in the idyllic and rural Finnish archipelago, this film adaptation of Tove Jansson’s adored novel from 1972 depicts the evolving and evocative story of Sophia and her grandmother as they spend their summer on a small island, grieving the passing of Sophia’s mother. The film was number one at the Finnish box office during the opening weekend and has received very positive reviews in the press. Tomorrow, February 14th, it's time for the film's anticipated premiere in Sweden! The Summer Book is directed by Charlie McDowell and stars 8-time Oscar® nominee Glenn Close, debuting Finnish actress Emily Matthews, and Anders Danielsen Lie.

Happy Birthday to Ilon Wikland, who is turning 95 years old today! Ilon Wikland’s 95th jubilee will be celebrated with many upcoming events. Her works will be part of the upcoming exhibition From Moomin to Chop Chop, which will run from February 15 to August 17 at Waldemarsudde in Stockholm. This ambitious showcase of Nordic picture book art highlights the work of four of the region’s most prominent illustrators and authors: Tove Jansson, Ilon Wikland, Linda Bondestam, and Pija Lindenbaum. In honor of her milestone birthday, Ilon’s autobiographical book, "The Long, Long Journey," has been re-released by Lilla Piratförlaget. Additionally, a smaller exhibition showcasing her works from her early teenage years to the present will soon open at the Estonian House in Stockholm.

Sinebrychoff celebrates the 80th anniversary of Moomin with a limited-edition soda! Finnish brewery Sinebrychoff has been producing Moomin soft drinks since 1991 and is now celebrating the 80th anniversary of Moomin with a new special edition. This pink soft drink blends raspberry and pear flavours into a bubbly celebration, with bottles wrapped in five different designs featuring Tove Jansson’s illustrations of joyful Moomin moments. The Moomin 80-anniversary soda is now available exclusively at SOK stores throughout Finland. It will be widely available starting in March, but only for six months during the anniversary year. #licensing #moomin80
