The world needs an urgent transformation of the global energy landscape to slow down climate change and meet the goals of the Paris Agreement. Part of the change implies a strategic increase in photovoltaics (PV) installation integrated into a strong growth of installed electricity capacity by 2050. The success of this endeavour is tightly linked with a continued improvement of the PV cost structure by resorting to new products such as tandem solar cells. SITA - Stable Inorganic Tandem Solar Cells is an EU-funded project aimed at developing next-generation tandem solar cells with superior efficiency and durability. By combining advanced Silicon Heterojunction and CIGS technologies, SITA seeks to achieve solar modules with over 30% efficiency, contributing to a sustainable energy future. We collaborate with top research institutions and industries to revolutionize solar technology, reduce costs, and advance renewable energy solutions.
