At an evening event, OSTTRA showcased their deep understanding of trading by exchanging unforgettable memories with Studs! 🤝🏼 OSTTRA, the new home of TriOptima, is a fintech company specializing in post-trading, which covers all processes following a trade. In addition to tackling the post-trade challenges of financial markets, they excel in performance optimization for OTC derivatives and have a diverse international clientele with offices worldwide 🏙️ Upon arrival at their central office, we were treated to breathtaking views of Stockholm, a daily perk for OSTTRArians. Throughout the event, attendees enjoyed presentations from employees, who shared insights into their products, work-life balance, values, and more ☀️ Many of the representatives were familiar KTH alumni, who participated in Studs and Mottagningen during their university days. They talked about OSTTRA’s inclusive way of working which values potential over flashy resumes. Thereon they emphasized that understanding the stock market and the economy is not a prerequisite for development roles 📈💡Following a tour of their luxurious office, attendees engaged in discussions at four stations, two focused on UX and development. The development team’s flexibility was apparent, with opportunities for remote work and freedom to choose their preferred programming environment 🧑🏽💻 OSTTRA delivers top-notch products by leveraging agile methodologies, CI/CD, testing processes, quality assurance, and more. Employees also have the chance to participate in various clubs and projects, ranging from art events to hacking workshops, reflecting OSTTRA’s commitment to a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and fun 🎨📚 At the other stations, discussions centered on diversity and degree theses within the company. For students, they usually offers summer jobs and thesis opportunities as a pathway to full-time positions, where degree projects usually involve AI topics 🤖 The evening was finalized with mingling and engaging in activities, including pool, ping pong, darts, escape rooms, game consoles, and refreshments 🏓 Thank you, OSTTRA, for hosting such a fantastic event! ✨

In addition to broadband connections, Telenor made a strong connection with Studs through a lovely breakfast event! 🍳 Telenor, originally established as Norway’s telegraph agency in 1855, has evolved into one of the world’s largest mobile telecommunications companies, operating mainly in Asia and the Nordics. Committed to fostering connectivity and innovation, Telenor is at the forefront of technological advancement and advocates for equality 🌍⚖️ Upon arrival, Studs received a breakfast containing delicious smoothies, while Telenor introduced themselves and showcased various departments, including IT, network, trainees, and more. Telenor’s dedication to push the technology forward was thereafter exemplified by their research collaboration with KTH on initiatives such as implementing network slicing on 5G for self-driving vehicles 🚘🛜 At Telenor, you have the opportunity to become part of a project team with experts, as they welcome you to write your thesis as a bachelor, master, doctoral, or Ph.D. student 🧑🔬 Telenor’s IT project teams, referred to as squads, work in an agile manner, involving employees with diverse backgrounds and expertise in frontend and backend development, quality assurance, and more 👩🏻💻 As a member of a squad, you have access to the Telenor Academy which you could utilize to spend the designated 40 hours that you receive per year for self-directed learning during office hours. Additionally, as an employee, you would be part of the Telenor Life which seems super nice and welcoming with fun activities and various offers 🪂 At the end of the event, Studs got to test their pieces of knowledge on an amusing Telenor quiz! Additionally, every student received a goodie bag filled with valuable items, but the true award was the opportunity to mingle and converse with Telenor employees. Then we got to hear more about their trainee program, which is a 12-month program that guarantees you a position at Telenor that could involve tasks within cyber security, 5G, AI, virtualization of networks, and other high-impact initiatives in Telenor. Thank you @telenorsverige for connecting with us! 📞

On April 24th Studs had the pleasure of visiting Cygni at their central office! ⭐ Founded in 2006, Cygni is an IT consulting firm that sets itself apart from others with its consultant-focused culture, prioritizing its employees and curating the best possible work environment. 🧑💻 This effort has clearly worked, as they have received the commendation “Sweden’s Best Workplace” multiple times! 🏆 Cygni has around 250 employees across the Nordics, but are since 2021 part of Accenture, providing the best of both worlds with a familial feel and an enormous global network. 🛜 Further, Cygni’s clientele includes companies from many different industries, ranging from market-leading to smaller companies and organizations! The evening began with a delicious dinner and a presentation of Cygni’s journey, and life at the company including presentations of a few consultants, with insight to their current and past assignments! 💻 We also got to hear about Cygni’s talent program, providing a seamless way for new graduates to enter the industry. After this, we got to partake in some “speed-dating” with the consultants, allowing us a glimpse into actual work life at Cygni! Then began the undoubtedly most action-packed portion of the evening: the robot programming challenge! With each team of Studs members equipped with a small robot car 🚗, our engineering skills were put to the test with the task of getting the best time on a race track consisting of a path laid out on the office floor. After some time of meticulous coding and testing, the robots got to compete on the track, creating quite the nail-biter of a finale for the  evening. The well-deserving winning team was then celebrated with some lovely prizes! 🎉 A big thank you to Cygni for inviting us back and for the amazing event! 🤩

Recently, Studs ventured to visit none other than Toptracer - a company that has achieved its goal of revolutionizing the sport of golf! ⛳ Launched in 2006, the original idea was born from frustration watching intelligible broadcasts, where one has to rely on the commentators to know whether a shot was good or bad. Since then Toptracer has become a market-leading company, with their products being used around the globe - not least since the acquisition by Topgolf in 2016. Their Broadcast technology utilizes ball tracing, letting viewers see their trajectory clearly and thus allowing for a more interactive experience. 📺 Another primary product is the Range Management System, which is designed to simplify all range operations, creating a better guest experience overall! While the business area encompasses only one sport, it is one that can only get more enjoyable to practice or follow with the inclusion of innovative technology, as exemplified by the rapid growth of Toptracer. And while golf is at the center of what they do, prior knowledge of it is not required to join their mission! ⭐ We were welcomed to Toptracer’s office with great pizza and a presentation by company representatives. After this, we were divided into teams and got the chance to engage with different parts of the organization while partaking in fun activities! 🎉 One station allowed us to try out their golf simulator, competing against the other teams (extra exciting for the first-time golfers in Studs!). 🏌️ Other stations showcased Broadcast, Tracking, and Hardware solutions teams, respectively, allowing us to see their work first-hand. In between visiting the different stations we got the opportunity to mingle with company representatives, which offered a nice change of pace and allowed us to learn everything there is to know about life at Toptracer! The evening ended with a price ceremony, celebrating the team that did the best in the simulator challenge. A big thank you to Toptracer for an amazing evening! 🤩⛳

During lunchtime at KTH, Folke&Partners made a notable appearance to engage with Studs on significant topics 🌯 Folke&Partners, a smaller resource consultancy firm, strives to be cutting-edge in its technical domain, currently focusing on AI, Cloud, and DevOps solutions. Furthermore, what makes them stand out amongst other companies, especially listed companies, is prioritizing their employees over the shareholders💡 The event commenced with a brief introduction followed by discussions between Studs and Folke&Partners on pertinent topics concerning our future work life. These topics included understanding one’s values and addressing discrimination. Folke&Partners continuously works on these topics and fosters transparency by making employees’ wages visible for salary negotiations and reducing wage disparities. Additionally, the consultants also have insight into their invoicing to the company 📈 The discussions also touched on salaries and future goals, with some believing there’s a point where money no longer equates to happiness. Folke&Partners subscribe to this ideology, aiming to create positive societal change. They achieve this by selecting companies to work with and imposing a profit cap, with excess funds donated to charity 🫴❤️ Their guiding principle is to lead through learning, staying at the forefront of technology, and supporting like-minded organizations. Alongside their sustainability and charity efforts, the employees seem very happy with fun year-round activities 🏝️ Thank you @folke&partners for an enriching event 🥂

Two weeks ago Studs had the pleasure of visiting leading Edtech company ILT Education! 🍎✏️ Catering to an audience ranging from kindergarten-age children to adults, they offer a wide range of digital products including e-books, audiobooks, videos, and learning apps. 📖 When the company was founded in 1990 the goal was to facilitate reading for children with special needs, such as dyslexia, using audio materials. Accessibility in learning is clearly still a big focus, and so is the enhancement of multilingualism, as books and materials are available in many different languages. 🌍 Collaboration with teachers and schools is key, as they have the best possible information regarding what it is that makes learning fun and engaging for the actual students! ⭐ While a leading company in the Nordics, ILT Education is expanding globally, with operations in countries such as the UK 🇬🇧 and the US 🇺🇸. Notably, they will often partner with local Edtech companies and products to deliver the best possible solutions! The evening started with a presentation introducing us to ILT Education, their products, and opportunities, as well as two Studs alumni who are now working at the company! 🤩 After this we enjoyed a tapas-style dinner, with each dish representing a country they have operations in, again reminding us of their global and language-focused mindset. We also got the opportunity to speak to company representatives about life at ILT Education! After dinner we got to participate in a digital escape room challenge, consisting of several tricky tasks. 💻 Thankfully each team had the support of one ILT representative, guiding us along the way. Finally, prizes were handed out to the members of the winning team in the form of cute and handy herbal plants! A big thank you to ILT Education for an exciting and educational evening! 👏

As the Latin word “decerner” means “to decide”, Studs decided to revisit the incredible IT consulting company, Decerno! In 1984, the same time as synths and hard rockers were emerging, Decerno was founded. If one has paid attention during the mathematical courses, one could figure out that their 40th anniversary is this year, so huge congratulations to Decerno on this milestone! 🌟 By being invited to their new central Stockholm office, we received a warm welcome and got to take part in an insightful presentation performed by their CEO Mats Dahl. During the presentation we got it proven that the firm specialises in complex and tailor-made solutions by having a wide range of collaborations, ranging from AI projects with Swedish municipalities to system deliveries for Hemglass. With a positive reputation and loyal customers spanning decades, Decerno has the luxury of selecting its partnerships, prioritizing sustainable development goals, and maintaining an ethical policy that avoids involvement in weapons, tobacco, alcohol, or gambling industries 🌏♻️ The presentation concluded with insights from two talented women at Decerno, a UX designer and a developer, showcasing the diverse teams such as the Development team, the Design Studio, and more. With perks like flexible work arrangements, skill development programs, and a vibrant community, joining Decerno is not only professionally rewarding but also a lot of fun🤸🏽♂️❤️ During a delicious meal shared with the employees, we received additional information regarding employment opportunities, including a summer internship in AI (apply before 7th April!) and degree projects across various specialisations. Furthermore, Decerno embraces flexibility by offering virtual and local office options in Sweden and Spain 👩🏻💻 As the evening came to a close, we had the chance to experience Decerno’s agile way of working firsthand, building a product with paper and lots (!!) of tape in response to changing customer needs. One of the teams provided a stronger contribution and was subsequently rewarded with a fine prize 🏆 Thank you @Decerno for your continued excellence since our first collaboration back in 1994!

On Tuesday the 6th of February, we had the privilege of visiting Studs veterans Tutus! 🎉Tutus is a privately-held company founded in 1992, specialising in developing cutting-edge crypto and security-related software. 🔑 Notably, Tutus is the primary supplier of government-approved and certified IT security products in Sweden and is making steady progress towards becoming a leading provider of approved IT security products within the EU. Currently, Tutus has around 50 employees and they are growing steadily, offering full-time positions, as well as internships and Master thesis opportunities for students. The evening began with a presentation about crypto and security by none other than Tutus’ CEO, Jens Bohlin! Through the presentation got interesting insights into the history of cryptography, current and future challenges within the industry, encryption and decryption with examples of different kinds of ciphers, RSA, and even quantum computing. 💻 After the presentation, we got insights into working at Tutus through a tour of their office, consisting of several stations showcasing different parts of the organisation, and including exciting demos of their products! 📱 We also got to compete in exciting crypto challenges, which were significantly easier for those who paid attention during the initial crypto presentation. For our latest venture, Studs visited Modular Finance at their office! As a fintech SaaS company, Modular Finance provides cutting-edge digital products tailored to the financial market. 📈 Founded in 2014, the company has primarily operated in the Nordics but is currently expanding to the UK. 🇬🇧 Their portfolio includes products for Investor Relations and Banking & Finance, focusing on modern technology and usability. 💻 Currently, Modular Finance has around 60 employees, and notably, they favour on-site working, which seems entirely reasonable considering their large, beautiful office space. While Modular Finance works closely with the stock market, a thorough understanding of it is not required to join their mission - the most important aspect is a willingness to learn! The event kicked off with a presentation from Modular Finance’s CTO, Rasmus Holm, in which we were given a comprehensive overview of the company’s journey and product lineup. Following the presentation, we got to put our skills to the test through an exciting CTF competition, testing us on various aspects of Computer Science, including web hacking, network protocols, and algorithms. 🧑💻 The much-deserving winning team, as well as the individually top-scoring players, were awarded with board games. For the rest of the evening, we had the opportunity to mingle with company representatives, learning everything there is to know about working at Modular Finance, their recruitment process, and what qualities they are looking for in engineers and students. Thank you to Modular Finance for hosting this spectacular event! 👏

With LinkedIn working again we can finally present: Studs 2024's first breakfast event was with none other than BCG Platinion! 🥞 With additional immense joy, we also was able to introduce BCG Platinion to a Studs event for the first time! As you may have already guessed, BCG Platinion is a consulting company that is an integrated part of BCG. Thus, BCG Platinion extends its expertise in business strategy by inventing and developing tech products, platforms and solutions💡 Once Studs arrived at their central Stockholms office, we had a perfect awakening by receiving a delicious breakfast with an interesting presentation of BCG Platinion. The presentation showed that they have a very strong global network with external and internal consultants where there is a high range of opportunities for self-development and work abroad 🌍 A few coffee drinks later, we got introduced to their wonderful working culture where they throughout the years hosts vacations and activities for the team ⛱️ The presentation then ended with us being given their usual working role, by solving a technological and business-related case! As a consultant one becomes an expert in dealing with challenging situations as you get the opportunity to try out various cases 🥇 As the breakfast event drew to a close, there was a mingling session with BCG Platinion’s representatives who told about the recruitment process for consulting as well as for their intern- and mentorship program.
