At AV & Public Transport conference, Pierre Ekwall and Jonas Renander had the opportunity to get a closer look at Glydways, an autonomous transport solution using self-driving Glydcars on dedicated lanes. Glydways combines dedicated lanes, compact zero-emission vehicles, and an on-demand system, enabling direct trips without stops along the way. Earlier this week, our colleagues Pierre Ekwall and Jonas Renander visited Zoox, before the now ongoing Autonomous Vehicles and Public Transport event. A key highlight was the opportunity to test ride a demo vehicle – Zoox’s fully autonomous, electric robotaxi designed for urban mobility. 🚖 With its symmetrical design, the vehicle can drive in both directions, optimizing efficiency in city environments. 💡Beyond the ride, they also explored Zoox’s Development Centre, gaining insights into the latest advancements in autonomous technology and sustainable transportation. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to discuss key industry challenges and future applications of autonomous mobility. Today, we are welcoming Rafael Oliveira to our team! ✨ With 24 years of experience in the automotive industry, Rafael has worked with renowned companies such as Ford, Scania, Volvo Group Trucks and Mercedes. He is a specialist in the design of mechanical components for the automotive sector. For the past five years, Rafael has been at Einride. There, among other things, he led the team responsible for the mechanical and electrical integration of hardware related to autonomous driving systems. Two quick questions for Rafael: What excites you about your career choice? I enjoy creating new products to solve different problems. Ensuring all components fit perfectly into a system and deliver the expected results is both challenging and rewarding. Why did you choose to join us? I am drawn to new technology. I want to be part of the development stage you’re in and contribute while also learning from the process.
