Om oss

The Absolut Group has the worldwide responsibility for the production, packaging innovation and strategic marketing of Absolut Vodka, Beefeater Gin, Monkey 47, Plymouth Gin, Malfy Gins, Malibu, Kahlúa, KI NO BI, Olmeca, Altos and Del Maguey. Absolut Vodka is one of the world’s top ten international spirits brands, with every drop of Absolut Vodka coming from one source, in and around Åhus in southern Sweden. With more than 200 years of distilling heritage, Beefeater Gin was born in the heart of London, where its only distillery remains today, while Plymouth Gin is made from England's oldest distillery using the original 1793 recipe. Unique and unrivalled, Monkey 47 name derives from the 47 handpicked ingredients sourced from the soft and mild water of Germany’s Black Forest, while KI NO BI is a recognisably dry gin from the Kyoto Distillery in Japan. Malfy Gins are made in Italy using Italian lemons, Sicilian pink grapefruits and blood oranges that express the sun-soaked spirit of the Almafi coast. Malibu is the number one rum-based coconut spirit in the world and Kahlúa, whose coffee is 100% sourced from remote farming communities in the Mexican coastal region of Veracruz as part of its Coffee for Good programme. Olmeca is a range of quality tequilas made from hand-selected agaves from the Mexican highlands of Los Altos; it's where Altos, using 100% blue agave, is made too. Meanwhile, Del Maguey's top-selling authentic single-village mezcals are produced in the same way they were 400 years ago. The Absolut Group's head office is in Stockholm, Sweden. CEO is Stéphanie Durroux. The Absolut Group is part of Pernod Ricard, the world’s second-largest wine and spirits producer (source: IWSR).

  • Artist who “took museum’s money and ran” on show at Warhol exhibition.   Visitors to the Spritmuseum, Stockholm, will get the opportunity to see the rediscovered Absolut Warhol ‘blue’ painting over the summer with the “Money on the Wall: Andy Warhol” exhibition extended until 14 September.   Several contemporary artists engaging with similar themes will also be on show, including Danish artist Jens Haaning, best known for his Take the Money and Run artwork – which led to him being sued! That happened after Haaning delivered two framed blank canvasses for an exhibition, rather than frames filled with the banknotes the museum had previously lent him.   Haaning’s adaption of his original piece “An Average Austrian Year Income” is on show at the Spritmuseum, and a wink to Warhol's dollar bill paintings and cow wallpaper. We recently caught up with the artist to discuss his influences, Andy Warhol and why he took the money and ran.   Read the full interview here: https://lnkd.in/dDZsiNVb #AbsolutVodka #AndyWarholFoundation

  • Meet Roger Johansson, Product Compliance Manager at The Absolut Group (TAG).   When Roger took on a one-year contract at TAG in 2008, little did he know it would spark a career spanning over a decade and multiple roles. Starting as a chemist in the product development team at Absolut, he has since transitioned into regulatory and product compliance for multiple brands. Today, his expertise helps the company navigate complex regulatory landscapes globally.   What's your role at TAG?   “I currently work in Regulatory and Product Compliance. My primary responsibility is to ensure everything we manufacture and sell complies with regulations in the markets we operate in. This includes the product itself and its labelling, which varies significantly across countries.   Understanding how things work has always motivated me. I often find myself exploring why certain markets have specific rules, trying to uncover the reasoning behind them so we can align with them effectively. Working in the legal department, my background as a chemist in product development allows me to bring a unique perspective to the table.   What’s a recent project you appreciated working on?   “One of the most rewarding projects wrapped up this past spring. Our entire team worked on updating our product labelling to include QR codes, giving consumers access to detailed product information like ingredient lists and nutritional details. It was a massive undertaking, covering all our markets and involving over 280 different labels for Absolut products alone.   What made it special was the collaborative aspect. I got to work with colleagues from production, supply chain, and Pernod Ricard’s headquarters in Paris. Seeing everyone come together toward a shared goal was incredibly motivating. And knowing we’ve made it easier for consumers to access information feels great.”   Can you share a moment when you felt really proud of your work at TAG?   “The first time I saw a product I had worked on sitting on a store shelf was unforgettable. It was back in 2009, and I had been involved in nearly every step of the product development process. What’s bizarre is that I can’t recall if it was Absolut Tropical or Absolut Mango, but I can still picture the bottle! Anyway, it was a moment of pure pride – realizing that something I contributed to was out there in the world, being used and enjoyed.”   What's your view on the term conviviality?   “To me, conviviality shines through in collaborative projects where everyone is aligned toward a common goal. It’s about fostering an open atmosphere where ideas flow freely, and discussions are constructive. That culture really defines our workplace. You can approach anyone with anything.”   What's your favorite cocktail?   “I’d say Boulevardier – essentially a Negroni made with bourbon. That said, when I’m feeling nostalgic, I go for a White Russian. I’m the right age to have been influenced by The Big Lebowski, so it holds a special place in my heart.”

  • KI NO BI’s new carbon-neutral distillery paves the way for future growth Japanese gin maker KI NO BI is gearing up for growth. Its new carbon-neutral distillery, set to open later this year, will increase The Kyoto Distillery’s capacity at least fivefold.   Although growth is the main reason behind the new distillery, it also has many benefits from a sustainability standpoint: a fully electrical boiler, state-of-the-art column stills (allowing a higher recycling rate from the distillation process), and the use of only fossil-free energy.   The intricate method of making KI NO BI, with its eleven botanicals distilled in six separate processes, is far more advanced than a typical gin. That process will never change according to Hiroyuki (Hiro) Nagai , Operations Director The Kyoto Distillery, despite the fact that the new distillery will raise the bar in terms of efficiency: “If we were only after efficiency, we could put everything in one still and cook it once. But we want to stick to the KI NO BI style”.   As shown in the pictures, construction of the distillery began last June after a traditional Japanese ground-breaking ceremony was held at the new site. The ceremony involved a Shinto Shrine master blessing the ground to ensure smooth construction and the distillery's prosperous future. Find out more about KI NO BI’s new distillery in this full interview with Hiro Nagai: https://lnkd.in/d2CbnXMH   #KINOBI #Kyoto

  • MONKEY 47 collaborates with film prop designer Annie Atkins for brand refresh.   Our ultra-premium dry gin from the heart of Germany’s Black Forest has launched a visual refresh that celebrates its pioneering spirit, eccentricity and meticulous craftsmanship. And at the heart of this ‘new brand’ world is a “wunderbar” wallpaper, created by Annie Atkins, the award-winning graphic designer who is famed for bringing filmmakers’ imagination to life. Annie’s colourful and whimsical design paints a revelatory world of invention filled with architectural optical illusions and clever oxymorons – where contradictions and unlikely combinations have meaning. Copper column stills emerge from behind the glossy-green forest fir trees representing the beating heart of the MONKEY 47 distillery, while intellectually inquisitive monkeys swing from vines adorned with vibrant berries and fruits amid prancing stags, flying cuckoos and hidden alpacas. We caught up with Ludivine Catrice, Creative Strategy and Design Director, Pernod Ricard and Lea Zobernig, MONKEY 47's Global Marketing Manager to discuss the brand refresh, its collaboration with Annie Atkins and how it will be brought to life at bars around the world. You can read more about the refresh here: https://lnkd.in/dC7V57c3 #Monkey47

  • Meet Luisa Fernanda Jiménez García, Global Senior Brand Manager at House of Tequila   Luisa is a 32-year-old Mexican with a deep love for Mexican culture and a passion for tequila – in other words, a perfect ambassador for House of Tequila. In her role as Global Senior Brand Manager for Altos Tequila, she’s responsible for defining and planning the brand’s development on a strategic and tactical level, while making sure plans are successfully implemented across global markets.   What’s a standout project you’ve recently worked with?   Altos is going through a series of exciting changes that aim to strengthen the brand, stand out in the category, and cut through the noise. Over the past months, I have been involved in this ambitious project, and I can’t wait to soon be able to communicate more about it. So, stay tuned – big news is coming soon!   What has been your proudest moment at TAG?   Leading the development of the group’s first Tequila RTD (ready-to-drink), Altos Margarita, exclusively launched in Australia and New Zealand, was an incredible journey. Not least because the tequila category’s denomination of origin comes with such specific regulations, which adds an extra layer of complexity. After months of dedicated work, we successfully launched the product last year, and it has shown an outstanding performance in its initial months.   How does the idea of conviviality manifest itself at work for you and your colleagues?   It shows up in our strong sense of community as a team. We truly enjoy supporting each other and celebrating our collective achievements. Conviviality is at the core of how we connect, collaborate, and grow together.

  • An ode to Art Deco and timelessness: Elyx Vodka’s new bottle evokes the prohibition era and pays tribute to the brilliance of copper.   At the heart of Elyx Vodka’s liquid silk mouthfeel is the inimitable 1920s copper still which plays a key part in the distillation process.   This unique vintage still, in which slow-growing winter wheat is carefully and manually distilled, delivers results that simply deserve to be savoured.   It is only fitting that Elyx Vodka’s bottle now tells this unique story. Studying the contours and features reveals a range of details, evoking everything from speakeasys and the prohibition, to Art Deco and the wonders of single estate winter wheat.   We caught up with Clara Guillon to find out more about the process behind creating an exceptional new bottle for an exceptional drink: https://lnkd.in/dg-Vm3RZ   #ElyxVodka
