🔎 How can energy customers get a fairer deal? Yesterday, Swedish economist Claes Hemberg visited Tibber’s Stockholm office to discuss his latest report, Två hål i plånboken (Two Holes in the Wallet), with our co-founder Daniel Lindén. The report highlights the growing frustration among Swedish households over complex electricity pricing, lack of transparency, and rising costs. Some key takeaways: ⚡ Half of all Swedes are worried about electricity prices. ⚡ 1.5 million customers are stuck in contracts where their energy-saving efforts don’t lower their bills – but boost profits for electricity companies instead. ⚡ 8 out of 10 Swedes struggle to manage unpredictable electricity costs, worsened by confusing pricing models and inconsistent industry standards. How does Tibber support you achieving the lowest price per kWh? With new pricing models coming in Sweden & Norway, this couldn't be more relevant 👀. ️ If you live in Sweden, you've probably heard about grid tariffs based on your highest consumption hours per month instead of total usage. And if you live in Norway you've probably heard about the introduction of Norgespris – a proposed fixed electricity price of 40 øre. If you live in Norway you've probably heard about the introduction of Norgespris over the weekend - a proposed fixed electricity price of 40 øre per kWh. A wild move? Definitely. A smart one for energy efficiency in Norway? Not so much. Could it appeal to some customers by offering price security? Sure. If Norgespris becomes a reality and customers choose this fixed-rate offer, they should go with a tech company that truly optimizes energy use.
