What do you think the next big step for electric transportation will be? In 2024, the electrification of heavy transport took huge steps forward. Electric trucks are no longer just a vision – they are part of the workday of many drivers. The benefits are clear: quieter working environments that reduce both fatigue and emissions. But challenges remain. For electrification to become standard, more social acceptance, better infrastructure, and clearer regulations are needed, especially concerning driving times and rest periods. Another important aspect is safety in urban environments, where the quieter vehicles can be more difficult for pedestrians and cyclists to notice.

Hur och varför testas kopplingsprodukter? Jo för att varje dag transporteras allt från mat och mediciner till byggmaterial och elektronik på våra vägar. Då är det av högsta vikt att det är säkra transporter som håller Sverige rullande. Dragbalkar, dragstångskopplingar, dragstångsöglor och dragstänger kallas med ett gemensamt namn för kopplingsprodukter. För att dessa produkter ska få användas i lastbilsekipage för vägtransporter i hastigheter över 30 km/h krävs att de är typgodkända enligt UNECE R55-reglerna. VBG har sedan 1980-talet kontinuerligt investerat i och utvecklat den egna testkapaciteten. På VBG är det en självklarhet att alltid utföra mekanisk provning på våra produkter för att säkerställa högsta möjliga trafiksäkerhet. Vid dynamisk provning bekräftas eller förfinas de beräkningar och processer som används i produktionen. Drawbeams, drawbar couplings, drawbar eyes, and drawbars are collectively known as coupling products. For these products to be used in truck combinations for road transport at speeds over 30 kph, they must be type-approved according to UNECE R55 regulations. Since the 1980s, VBG has continuously invested in and developed its own testing capacity. At VBG, it is standard practice to always carry out mechanical testing on our products to ensure the highest level of traffic safety. Dynamic testing confirms or refines the calculations and processes used in production.
