There’s something going on with Renate Reinsve and Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel. With one acclaimed, award-winning film in the can and another already in the pipeline, the superstar actor and first-time feature filmmaker are already on their way to being the next significant, culture-shifting film duo to come out of Norway. It’s a poetic distinction, given that Ullmann Tøndel is the grandson of Ingmar Bergman and Liv Ullmann. “We have a really special chemistry and we kind of thrive on each other’s work and ideas,” says Ullmann Tøndel, noting that the moment they started shooting Armand, he knew this collaboration was something special. For Princess Sofia, life is about balance. Balancing royal duties and motherhood (soon-to-be four kids under eight is no joke), charity work and being a supportive wife, daughter and sister. “I’ve really learned to love the mix,” she says of the many facets that comprise her life as Princess. “It gives me the ability to contribute in so many ways.” At home, she seeks to bring a certain warmth to her family’s surroundings. According to Prince Carl Philip, she more than succeeds. “Sofia radiates a warmth that spreads throughout the home,” he says. For @voguescandinavia’s December/January issue, Princess Sofia gives unique insight into her day-to-day as Princess and reflects on life at home with Prince Carl Philip and their three children. “As a person, being authentic is my way of surviving” Growing up, Princess Sofia had many dream occupations – policewoman, pilot, musical theatre performer. Notably absent from that list was the Princess of Sweden. It was a chance meeting with Prince Carl Philip during tennis week in Båstad that set her down the path to becoming the Princess. “He looked very humble,” she says. “He had those big, brown, very, very kind eyes.” For @voguescandinavia’s December/January issue, Princess Sofia reflects on her first meeting with Prince Carl Philip and reveals how she adjusted to her role as Princess.
