We are growing our fleet! Yesterday we acquired the sister ships M/V Thuleland and M/V Tundraland from Baltic Container Shipping Ltd 💫 The acquisitions are a continued part of our strategy to grow through new construction of vessels and acquisition of existing vessels. The vessles are already operated today in WALLENIUS SOL, which is owned by Wallenius Lines and Svenska Orient Linjen, with the aim of strengthening a sustainable infrastructure in the Gulf of Bothnia and the Baltic Sea. The vessels currently fly the Swedish flag and are under the management of Wallenius Marine AB, which they will continue to be. The vessels will be long-term chartered to WALLENIUS SOL.
Om oss
Wallenius Lines is an investor and active owner within the global shipping industry, specifically the international car and Ro-Ro segment which has become the trademark for Wallenius. In the 1960's, Wallenius pioneered the RoRo concept, first on the North Atlantic trade and later on the Asian trade when Wallenius became the first independent shipping line to work with Japan's automobile manufacturing industry. With a strong focus on innovation, Wallenius Lines continued to develop the car transportation concept, with both vessel design projects and logistic solutions. Today, some of the world’s largest car and RoRo networks are included in the investment portfolio: Together with one of the world’s largest shipping company, the Japanese NYK, Wallenius Lines owns 50% of the short-sea shipping line United European Car Carrier, UECC. Since April 2017, Wallenius Lines along with Wilh. Wilhelmsen Holding ASA is the majority shareholder in Wallenius Wilhelmsen ASA, listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. Wallenius Lines also owns 50 % of WALLENIUS SOL, together with Svenska Orient Linien (SOL). WALLENIUS SOL started in April 2019 with the purpose to strengthen the infrastructure at the Baltic Sea. Wallenius Lines own 50% of AlfaWall Oceanbird, a joint venture with Alfa Laval. Oceanbird started in December 2021 and develops stiff wing sails to the shipping industry. Wallenius Lines is fully owned by Rederi AB Soya and part of the Soya Group.

"I want to be a leader with less focus on my exact area of responsibility, and more on how we can work together and create great things." Our CEO Erik Nøklebye in an open-hearted interview. https://lnkd.in/dyvaamfU #walleniusmarine #soyagroup

A charter agreement has already been fixed and the vessel's delivery will take place in Asia at the end of August. https://lnkd.in/dTwBhi46
