It’s time to reach new heights. We’re proud to announce that Wingbits has raised $5.6M in a strategic round led by Borderless Capital and Bullish Capital, with participation from Antler Global, Tribe Capital, The Spartan Group, Heartcore Capital, and SNZ Capital. This brings our total funding to $9.2M as we pioneer the first DePIN for aviation. “Wingbits is a definitive use case for DePIN. They are on track to be the largest airplane tracking network on earth thanks to their well-designed incentives and execution,” says Álvaro Gracia, Partner at Borderless Capital. We’re beyond grateful to all our investment partners who have backed our mission to build the world’s largest, most sophisticated and most fair flight tracking network worldwide. In less than a year on testnet, Wingbits has scaled 6x faster than any other tracking network in history, signaling a seismic shift in how aviation data is captured, validated and monetized. In the next 15 years, air traffic is projected to double. These funds will be used to accelerate the next phase of our worldwide expansion, growing our community who will help map every inch of the sky and become the backbone of a global airspace management system that the $6 trillion aviation industry can depend on. “We are excited to partner with the Wingbits team, who in less than 18 months have already begun to disrupt a flight tracking industry with huge proven demand by leveraging blockchain technology to incentivize the supply of higher quality, lower latency data,” says Alasdair Foster, CEO of Bullish Capital. • Our hearts go out to Los Angeles communities as firefighters battle devastating wildfires affecting over 45 square miles of densely populated areas. This timelapse shows emergency response aircraft flight paths over Pacific Palisades and Altadena, captured by Wingbits stations. Over 50 helicopters and aircraft were deployed, including CL-415 SuperScoopers capable of carrying 1,620 gallons of water per mission. Flight tracking during natural disasters is critical for emergency response coordination. With 88,000 residents under mandatory evacuation and another 85,000 under evacuation warnings, real-time flight data helps coordinate these massive response efforts between ground crews and aerial firefighting teams. Our deepest condolences to those who lost loved ones and homes in these devastating events, and we are deeply thankful for our brave firefighters working tirelessly to protect our communities.

  • Did you know inefficient flight routes waste millions of tons of fuel annually? The surprising culprit is incomplete flight tracking coverage. When aircraft can't be tracked consistently, they're often required to fly longer routes than necessary, maintain higher altitudes than optimal, hold patterns longer than needed, and take less efficient approaches. These small inefficiencies add up to considerable financial costs but even more significant environmental damage. A single commercial flight can waste up to 𝟐,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐩𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐮𝐞𝐥 due to inefficient routing, contributing to the aviation industry’s roughly 𝟐% 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. Studies suggest that up to 15% of fuel consumption could be optimized with better tracking. That means a 𝟎.𝟐𝟓% 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 just from more direct routes, optimal flight levels, efficient approaches, and reduced holding patterns. The solution lies in a comprehensive, professional-grade tracking network that provides global coverage, real-time data, accurate positioning, and consistent reliability. At Wingbits, we're building this network to align incentives and help aviation become more sustainable. Better tracking goes beyond safety. It’s also about creating a more environmentally responsible future for aviation. Together, we can make flight tracking part of the solution to aviation's environmental impact, future-proofing the industry for the coming decades.

  • Meet John, an engineer in Stockholm who runs a flight tracking station from his apartment. Like thousands of others worldwide, he's part of an invisible network that keeps our skies safe – the volunteer flight trackers. These aviation enthusiasts have formed the backbone of global flight tracking for decades. Their dedication has been remarkable, but it's time to reimagine this critical infrastructure and give people like John the incentives they deserve. 𝐖𝐡𝐲? Because the aviation industry has outgrown the volunteer model. Air traffic is increasing exponentially, new aircraft types like consumer drones are entering our airspace, global coverage demands are growing, and real-time data needs are accelerating. The current volunteer-based system faces significant sustainability, coverage, and quality challenges. With no incentives for continued participation and equipment costs borne by volunteers, the system struggles to maintain consistent standards and coverage. We're not just talking about tracking commercial flights anymore. The future of aviation includes urban air mobility vehicles, autonomous drones, private aviation growth, and space tourism. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐞𝐫𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡. That's why we're transforming flight tracking from a hobby into a professional, incentivized network. By combining professional-grade hardware with fair rewards, we're building a system that compensates contributors fairly, ensures consistent coverage, maintains professional standards, and delivers verified data. The future of aviation needs more than volunteers. It needs a professional network that can scale with growing demands.
