Helsingborg – the making of a smarter city

Helsingborg took centre stage at the Smart City Expo World Congress - the world’s largest gathering for smart cities 🚀 Over three inspiring days, we’ve experienced incredible interest in Helsingborg as a part of the Nordic Pavilion, where we highlighted our transformation areas: 👩👦👦 Welfare Innovation, 🌿 Green Transition, and 💡 Smart City. The city arranged and participated in several panel discussions and presentations to further highlight these topics. Together with Invest in Skåne, we also hosted "Swedish Fika" and welcomed various international delegations. ⚙ Highlights from the expo ⚙ Andréas Hall, Britta Duve Hansen and Tanja Ståhle from City of Helsingborg along with Alfred Lindberg of Univrses and Elena Sjödin, EMBA of Robot Minds, discussed Helsingborg’s testbed capabilities and our role as a catalyst for cross-sector collaboration 🤝 Jonas Berg, Helsingborgs Head of Security, led an engaging panel with Kristina Madolova Jarlhov of Axis Communications and Susanne Brok of the Dutch police, exploring the potential of of combining smart technology and criminology for safer cities 🙌 As we wrap up our participation, we look forward to building new partnerships and further strengthening Helsingborg as a hub for impact innovation. 🌍🚀 Exciting strides toward climate neutrality and a big step for climate action and smarter cities! Öresundskraft AB’s carbon capture and storage (CCS) project at Filbornaverket has secured support from the EU Innovation Fund - a groundbreaking initiative advancing Helsingborg’s commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility. This milestone marks a significant leap toward Helsingborg’s net zero goal by 2030.
