Mips® safety system – designed to provide added safety for helmets in many accidents.
Om oss
Mips has teamed up with some of the leading safety helmet and personal protective equipment (PPE) manufacturers to include our patented low-friction safety systems in construction helmets and hard hats. The goal is to improve head protection by reducing harmful rotational motion caused by an angled impact from a worker falling or being struck by a falling object. In certain angled impacts, Mips® safety systems can reduce harmful forces that may otherwise be transmitted to the head. Rotational management - This is the reason Mips exists. We have done the research. We have the data. Studies show that in the majority of cases when a person falls their head hits the ground at an angled impact. The same applies when a collision or contact with an object occurs. These scenarios are more likely to happen in high-risk professions, including on construction sites. These angled impacts can cause harmful rotational motion to the head. A Mips® low-friction layer inside a helmet or hard hat allows multi-directional movement of 10-15mm on certain angled impacts, intended to help reduce the rotational force to the head.
