3 years in a row! A huge congrats to ISCE2’s shibo xi for being named once again to Clarivate's Highly Cited Researchers 2024 list! Here’s why this recognition is significant: 🔹 Highly Cited Researchers are among just 1 in 1,000 of the world’s scientists and social scientists. 🔹 Their work ranks in the top 1% by citations for their field(s) and publication year in the Web of Science™ over the past decade. 🔹 This year’s list includes only 6,886 researchers worldwide! At ISCE2, we are proud to drive groundbreaking research in sustainability, chemistry, and beyond, contributing to a brighter future. Let’s celebrate Shibo Xi’s remarkable contribution to science and innovation, pushing boundaries for a more sustainable world. #HighlyCited #ResearchExcellence #Chemistry #Sustainability

Collaboration drives sustainability! ISCE2 and Westcom Bio-Tech were proud to showcase MicroBites to Minister for Sustainability and Environment Grace Fu last week at the Unilever Campus. This innovative microbe consortium, co-developed for Westcom’s food waste digesters, transforms waste into organic fertilisers. By advancing resource recovery and reducing carbon emissions, we’re driving impactful solutions for a circular economy. #Sustainability #Innovation #ISCE2 #circulareconomy
Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, driving sustainable development and trade relations in and for Singapore.
#Didyouknow that Singapore generated 755,000 tonnes of food waste last year? That is equivalent to 52,000 double-decker buses 🚌 or 10 million average Singapore men 💁🏻♂️💁🏻♂️💁🏻♂️!! Not only is this a waste of valuable resources, it impacts our environment, adds to carbon emissions and strains our limited landfill space. But this is also where our F&B sector has significant potential to drive change. I had the pleasure of launching the Sustainability Playbook for the F&B industry - a guide developed by Enterprise Singapore and industry stakeholders to help our F&B industry embrace sustainability. 📗🍽️💚 The playbook introduces three 'A's for the F&B industry to reduce waste and energy use: Account, Avoid, and Adjust. Find out more at https://lnkd.in/gAC7uTq9 📊🔍 To further support the F&B industry, National Environment Agency also launched a Request for Proposal under the Closing the Resource Loop Funding initiative for R&D proposals to address food waste. This RFP will help drive innovation in upcycling food waste and maximising value capture, contributing to a sustainable circular ecosystem. 🔄💡🌟 Every meal is a chance to make a difference! 🌍✨🥗 Let’s all play our part and #SayYEStoWasteLess! #GreenMadeEasy #OnTheJobWithGrace #ClimateAction Unilever Food Solutions, Republic Polytechnic, DBS Bank, Winnow, Brewerkz, Circular Unite, A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research

ISCE² and IHI Corporation have recently signed an MoU to accelerate the commercialization of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) synthesis technology. Building on our joint research since 2022, we are advancing a high-yield catalyst for SAF production from hydrogen and CO₂, with a bench test unit being installed in Singapore. Under this MoU, both parties will jointly promote the scale up of SAF production plant, expedite the ASTM Approval process for the commercial SAF deployment, and foster new opportunities across Asia-Pacific for a greener future in aviation. #SustainableAviationFuel #synthesistechnology #SAF #Sustainability #Innovation

Two Fridays ago, ISCE2 hosted almost 200 students from five Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) as part of an annual event organised by Singapore Chemical Industry Council, aimed at bridging the gap between academic studies and industry practice. Students from National University of Singapore, Singapore Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic, Nanyang Polytechnic, and ITE College East visited ISCE2 to explore the real-world applications of their chemical-related studies. During the visit, students saw first-hand how classroom concepts translate into impactful research and innovations within the industry. ISCE2's scientists and research engineers also shared their career pathways, offering valuable insights into the diverse opportunities within the sector. We hope this eye-opening experience inspires the next generation of chemical engineers and innovators to continue pushing boundaries in the ever-evolving energy and chemicals sector! #ISCE2 #Sustainability #ChemicalEngineering #STEM #SCIC
