The following are the basic steps for performing CPR: For Adults and Adolescents: Check Responsiveness and Call for Help: Tap the person and shout, “Are you okay?” If there is no response, call emergency services (911 or your local emergency number) and get an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) if available. Open the Airway: Tilt the head back slightly to open the airway by lifting the chin. Check for Breathing: Look, listen, and feel for breathing for no more than 10 seconds. If the person is not breathing or only gasping, begin CPR. Chest Compressions: Place your hands, one on top of the other, in the middle of the chest. Use your upper body weight (not just your arms) to push straight down hard and fast, compressing the chest at least 2 inches deep and at a rate of 100-120 compressions per minute. Rescue Breaths: After 30 compressions, give 2 rescue breaths. Pinch the person's nose shut, make a seal over their mouth with yours, and blow to make the chest rise. The NEMOS wave power plant produces electricity in the middle of the sea. The free-floating system turned out to be the best solution - not only economically, but also technically. Fascinating innovation? Only the 2 x 8 meter floating body is visible from the prototype of the NEMOS wave power plant. Its function is currently being put to the test in Ostend, Belgium. The float is one of two main components of the system. It is attached with flat belts made of steel cables in a plastic matrix to an underground structure that is also free-floating – the latter 16 meters long. Both elements are held in place by anchors. Due to the waves, the floating body moves more than the lower, comparatively sluggish element. The flat belts are pre-tensioned with a spring. They transfer this relative movement to the generator, which then produces electricity. A simple system that promises success.
