The time is now to focus on valuing what truly matters
We stand at a pivotal moment in history—one marked by intensifying geopolitical tensions, the resurgence of totalitarian mindsets, and the alarming acceleration of global warming and nature depletion. These intertwined crises compel us to profoundly rethink how we perceive and measure progress.
Metrics are more than just numbers; they embody a vision of the world. When grounded in solid science and aligned with our shared values, they guide us toward the action we urgently need.
Economic success can no longer be measured solely by GDP—a narrow metric that overlooks the true essence of well-being, sustainability, and inclusivity. It’s time to value what truly matters: human flourishing, the health of our planet, and the solidarity that binds our societies.
That’s why we’re establishing (co-creating) the Swiss Impact & Prosperity Initiative (SIPI)—an ambitious collaborative instrument designed to unify decision-making and pave a just, inclusive, and sustainable future for Switzerland and beyond.
Together with global thought leaders—among them on stage André Hoffmann, David Bach, Anna Fontcuberta-Morral, Sandrine Dixson-Declève, Stephanie Hart , Andrea Rauber Saxer, and Knut Haanaes —plus more than 20 additional experts and over 180 representatives from the public and private sectors, NGOs, and academia supporting our pre-launch in Davos, we will explore innovative ways to transcend GDP and create a lasting legacy of impact.
Ilaria Resta Patrick Odier Philipp Navratil Mikael de Rham Daniel Dubas Klaus Schonenberger Andy Churr Jean-Pierre Danthine Yves Flückiger Claire-Lise Rimaz and many other thought leaders are coming together to reconcile and act.
Why SIPI?
- To transcend outdated metrics and embrace holistic measures of progress.
- To implement frameworks that drive strategic development for both private and public sectors.
- To spark global action through a scalable, scientifically rigorous approach, rooted in Swiss values of participation, equity, and resilience.
