Mediacorp recently hosted Campus Connect 2024, welcoming over 45 talented students from more than 10 institutions of higher learning! 📚✨ These bright minds, including hackathon participants and award recipients, took part in interactive networking sessions with Mediacorp leaders, gained insights from Bloomr.SG (Mediacorp) content creators, and connected over small bites with Mediacorp’s producer-presenters. The day also wrapped up with an exclusive campus tour, offering an exciting glimpse into the dynamic world of media. 🚀 We look forward to hosting more of such sessions for students to spark their curiosity and fuel their passions, giving them a glimpse of the exciting possibilities that a future in media can hold!

After an incredible journey, my internship at Bloomr.SG (Mediacorp) has come to an end. This experience has been very valuable, filled with collaboration and learning opportunities. Every single experience contributed to both my personal and professional growth. I’m very thankful for being able to contribute to The Pinwheels. From creating radio activation ideas and helping with various parts of The Pinwheels, it truly is a great experience. Special thanks to Lisa L. for her guidance, support and encouragement throughout this journey. I want to express my deepest gratitude to Diogo Martins for this amazing opportunity and for believing in me. Contributing to help facilitate the accelerator class is a very eye-opening experience. It really allows me to observe more about the content creation industry and the recognition creators truly deserve. Bloomr.SG is filled with such skilled people and has taught me how to face challenges with a problem solving mindset, the importance of staying adaptable in a fast paced digital world, and has also improved my communication skills. Thank you to the marketing team, Denise Tan, Nadiah Tuah, Nursyamimi Ruhazat and Ridzal Zainal  for also making this internship experience unforgettable. I am looking forward in applying what I’ve learned in future endeavors!

Top question amongst the students at School of InfoComm Technology - Ngee Ann Polytechnic: How do i create fun, engaging content that's safe for brands? While the students themselves are all for the unhinged Gen-Z humour, their worry comes from creating content for the school (and future workplaces). Hence, Diogo Martins Denise Tan and our #bloomrsgmcn creator Darren Toh (@darrendt) shared our thoughts on avoiding the pitfalls of self-censorship from the get go, as well as the practical challenges they may face in the media industry. We had loads of fun picking at each others' brains at what was essentially a casual hangout with the up-and-coming media talents of tomorrow. I'm not gonna pretend that working overtime isn't a chore, but then again, having to hang out with really fun people - content creators with quirky personalities, no less - is a pretty cool thing to do. We just wrapped up our last #bloomrsgmcn accelerator programme class for the year, and it's a bittersweet moment as we closed off the session. New friends were made over pizza, talking about content creator aspirations & challenges, and of course bonding through the various fun activities. A big shoutout to all the trainers, and of course our own team mates, especially Eldrida Yeong Kevin Sarjit Leonard Lau who worked especially hard to create such a wonderful experience for the 2024 cohort. The night of The Pinwheels 2024 was as chaotic as every good party should be, and of course we couldn't be happier for all the well-deserving winners. From lovely cocktails at The Pintwheels bar (pun intended) to the crowd of amazing guests, our adrenaline was pumping throughout the night as we finally got to meet the familiar faces on our social media feeds. It really isn't possible to summarise the night but I'll list down some iconic moments that you can also catch in our latest YouTube video below: 1. Ending the show together with our creators over more drinks 🍷🍷 Truth be told, it takes a village to pull off a large scale awards show like that, and our lovely boss Diogo Martins gave us some time to recuperate over the Deepavali holiday (hence the late post).
