  • City Energy celebrates our attainment of the Superbrands award once again! City Energy has been conferred the Superbrands 2024 award for our gas water heaters at this by-invitation-only award ceremony organised by Superbrands Singapore. In comparison to an electric storage water heater, a household can save $1,200 by using a gas water heater based on a study by NEA. https://lnkd.in/gEepPEuP Using a gas water heater also saves 80% in carbon emissions compared to the electric storage water heater, based on a study by Professor Lee Siew Eang, National University of Singapore. City Energy’s excellence in branding and reputation for longstanding consumer trust has been recognised. We would like to thank our customers for their continuous support! #CityEnergySG #SuperbrandsSingapore #SuperbrandsAwards2024 #GasWaterHeaters

  • Our efforts in supporting the community as an organisation continued at the recent Got To Walk 2024 charity event organised by the Kidney Dialysis Foundation, Singapore (KDF) ! At City Energy, we believe in supporting employee wellness and doing our part for charity. This time, we joined hands with KDF, which provides critical support to those battling kidney conditions, to raise awareness on their event theme, “Beat Diabetes, Protect Your Kidneys”. We walked for a cause, showing our support for KDF’s efforts to champion a healthier lifestyle and give back to society, as the proceeds of the event went to providing treatment for kidney patients in Singapore. It was an unforgettable day indeed as we felt rejuvenated from the walk and had the chance to do good at the same time! #GotToWalk2024 #KDF #Sustainability #LowerCarbonSolutions #CorporateResponsibility #GivingBack #KidneyHealth #GreenEnergy #WalkForACause

  • Throwback to #SIEW2024, when Mr Desmond Tay, our Head of Strategic Planning, was invited to share about City Energy’s commitment and contribution to finding strategies to further decarbonise our piped town gas. https://lnkd.in/gGCqJUYk Today’s town gas has up to 50% hydrogen, putting City Energy in good stead to develop a lower carbon version of town gas. We switched to pollution-free naphtha gas in 1966 and started using natural gas as partial feedstock in town gas production for the first time in 2003. We are committed to going even further. Hence, we are partnering with esteemed partners to develop a next-generation lower-carbon town gas. Stay tuned for exciting updates as we enter a new year filled with initiatives aimed at achieving a lower-carbon, sustainable energy future! #CityEnergySG #SIEW2024 #LowerCarbonFuture #Sustainability #Hydrogen

We recently installed a solar photovoltaic (PV) system for one of our customers. This initiative will generate significant zero-carbon power to further support their business processes. The power that will be generated via their new PV system is estimated to lower their monthly electricity cost by more than 60% and their carbon emissions by over 80 tonnes in a year. For our customer, this solar solution is more than just a big step towards sustainability. Tapping the sun’s zero-carbon power gives them both cost savings and environmental savings, and optimises their business processes. By entering into our Power Purchase Agreement, they have set the stage for significant electricity savings, with us taking the load off their shoulders by bearing the PV infrastructure costs on their behalf. We are further empowering our customers by providing them with a solar calculator, https://lnkd.in/gwTjWufF. This helps our customers to envision the actual savings our PV system would bring them. In the long-term, this would be useful in aiding our customers’ business roadmap towards decarbonisation. We’re eager to continue making a positive impact for both our clients and our environment! #CityOG #CityEnergySG #RenewableEnergy #SolarEnergy #SolarPower #Sustainability

  • We gathered for our annual Technical Seminar, bringing together colleagues, partners and industry leaders for a day filled with inspiration, collaboration and innovation. “Energising Our Sustainable Future: Integrated Energy Pathways” covered a cross-section of topics to provide first-hand specialist insights on the latest energy trends and developments. There was active discussion on the future of water heating with gas water heaters, new technologies for gas distribution network maintenance, electric vehicle charging on business and private residential premises, and many more. Mr. James Tor from SP Group lent his insights into new technologies surrounding the maintenance of the gas distribution network, while Mr. Robert Friesacher from Pt. Euroasiatic Jaya delivered his observations on the role of cogeneration in a lower-carbon future. Our very own speakers, Mr. Koh Hwee Kang, Ms Qi Min Loh, Mr. Jun Jie Tan and Mr. Desmond Tay, also did City Energy proud by touching on pertinent topics such as “Pathways to Lower Your Emissions” and “City Energy’s Energy Transition and Hydrogen Initiatives”, just to name a few. The insightful keynote speeches and engaging networking sessions provided a rare opportunity to pool together insights and ideas that could be building blocks for our lower-carbon future. A big thank you to our speakers and guests who made the event impactful. The journey towards a lower-carbon future requires continuous learning from one another to add greater dynamism to our ever-changing fields of expertise. #TechnicalSeminar2024 #CityEnergySG #Innovation #Collaboration #Networking

  • Did you know that demand for gas water heaters has increased by 20% compared to pre-COVID levels and that 70% of new private condominium units with piped gas come with gas water heaters installed? The rising popularity of gas water heaters in Singapore has spurred us to provide an even wider array of this lower-carbon home solution by introducing our very own smart, Internet-of-Things (IoT)-enabled gas water heaters. We recently launched our own Life by City Energy in-house brand of gas water heaters. Therefore, to help existing homeowners to enjoy more energy-efficient water heating, we are also offering a seamless one-stop conversion from electric to gas water heaters. The six vibrant shades of Life by City Energy gas water heaters – Slate Black, Orchid Pink, Glacier Grey, Icy Blue, Cool Green and Cotton White – come in a sleek, compact design and elegant glass finish on the front. Their energy-efficient features aim to help homeowners to reduce their carbon footprint, as energy-efficient home appliances reduce energy consumption in households and gas water heaters are more energy-efficient than electric storage water heaters, according to a study by the National Environment Agency. Every bit counts, so consider adopting more lower-carbon solutions like gas water heaters today. #CityEnergySG #Sustainability #LowerCarbon #GasWaterHeaters #Waterheating #HomesandBusinesses

  • Our City Energy family participated in our first-ever beach clean-up at East Coast Park! It was a rewarding experience coming together to protect our beautiful coastline. We collected all kinds of trash – everything from plastic bottles to foam bits. Some of these were marine litter washed ashore by the waves, but most of the litter we collected was a result of beachgoers indiscriminately throwing bottle caps, empty drink cans, cigarette butts, packaging bits and the like. Every piece of trash cleared from our shores is a step towards a cleaner environment for future generations. This marks yet another successful occasion on which City Energy does our part for society. We could not have done it without the help of the Public Hygiene Council and National Environment Agency. A huge thank you to all our volunteers for their passion in protecting our environment! We will keep this momentum going as one City Energy family striving towards a more sustainable future. #CityEnergySG #ENablersofCityEnergy #CorporateSocialResponsibility #BeachCleanup #Teamwork #Sustainability
