Two weeks ago the delaware Singapore team took a break from the office and took a short trip across the border to Melaka, Malaysia for our annual d'Fiesta team-building retreat - and what an unforgettable experience it was! 🥳   We kicked off the weekend with some serious conversations, diving into delaware's direction for the future and taking time to reflect on our core values and figuring out exactly what and how they shape everything we do. It was a chance to not only get aligned on our vision, but also to connect on a deeper level with our colleagues and strengthening the relationships that make our team so special.    But it wasn't all serious! After some insightful discussions and presentations, we dug into some delicious local food before the real fun began - our very own Amazing Race: Melaka Edition! Split into teams, we raced through the vibrant streets of Melaka, solving clues and completing challenges, all while laughing and working together. We had to rely on each other’s strengths, quick thinking, and of course, teamwork. It was the ultimate test of collaboration, and by the end of it, we weren’t just colleagues – we were a stronger, more united team.    The weekend wrapped up with an epic Halloween-themed dinner, and let us tell you, everyone showed up in their BEST costumes! From spooky characters to creative outfits, the energy was high and the laughter was non-stop. It was the perfect way to end a weekend filled with camaraderie, fun, and a little bit of healthy competition.   It’s times like these that remind us of the importance of teamwork, connection, and having a little bit of fun along the way. We are excited to announce the appointment of our new Managing Director and Management Committee at delaware International, who will lead us into the next chapter of our journey toward building a sustainable, long-term company. Our goal is to create a business that will thrive for at least 150 years, benefiting generations to come. This vision is at the core of everything we do, and to keep it alive, we regularly refresh our senior leadership team every 5 to 6 years, bringing in new energy and perspectives. Effective January 1, 2025, Ian Greenhalgh will step into the role of Managing Director for delaware International. Ian brings extensive experience, having successfully launched the US business unit of HCL AXON and, since 2016, serving as a partner and Managing Director at Delaware United Kingdom & Ireland. His leadership and expertise make him ideally suited to guide us toward continued growth and innovation. In addition to Ian’s appointment, we are proud to introduce our new Management Committee, a diverse and talented group that will work alongside him to ensure the ongoing success of delaware International. In a time where fostering unity is crucial for the harmony of Singapore society, we partnered with the Singapore Computer Society and New Hope Community Services for a second time to make a meaningful impact. Last week we gathered to help and assist 25 displaced and low income clients to learn and navigate basic Microsoft Excel skills. This was our last lesson on the pilot Excel course, where we taught them how to apply their new-found skills to track their income or profit/loss if they want to open a business of their own. One of our consultants even went the extra mile to help curate a CV for a client to apply for a job! As the year begins to wrap-up, New Hope Community Services hopes to take this pilot project to the next level and share these learnings and initiatives with more under-privileged communities in the next phase. It's heart-warming to see our beneficiaries take the time and initiative to learn these crucial skills to change their lives for the better and strive towards self-sufficiency and independence. Together, we are making a difference, one step closer to bridging divisions and building a stronger, more united Singapore.
