WA will soon be manufacturing its own commercial satellites! 👷🛰️ WA Earth Observation company LatConnect 60 Ltd have received $3.5million through the WA Government's Investment Attraction Fund (IAF) to build WA's first ever commercial satellite assembly facility. LatConnect 60 is contributing an additional $3.5million for a new satellite which will be built in WA and is scheduled to be launched from the United States in 2026. IAF provides businesses with financial support and investment guidance to establish, grow or relocate their operations to WA. 👨🎓 The Western Australia for Study ASEAN Roadshow in Malaysia was a huge success! In October, Invest and Trade Western Australia ’s Educational Business Development Manager Kar-Yee Ong brought together education agents and school stakeholders across Kuala Lumpur. The roadshow provided attendees with insights on studying in WA as well as awareness about scholarship opportunities such as the WA Premier’s $50,000 University Scholarship and the WA Premier’s $20,000 WA Certificate of Education (WACE) Bursary. 🧑🎓 🤝 32 key stakeholders, including educators, principals, education agents, government and WA education institution representatives, came together to explore and enhance international education opportunities for WA. Key highlights of the events included: 🔹 VET insights and clarity: conversations on the connection between vocational and higher education, and the breaking of common misconceptions. 🔹 Panel Discussion: Austrade’s Malaysia Business Development Manager Srii G. led the talk on university-led innovation, entrepreneurship, and navigating education in an AI-driven world. 🔹 Alumni Inspiration: Curtin University alumni and environmental advocate Professor Muhammad Sadruddin, shared his transformative journey of studying in WA. 🔹 Pathway opportunities to success: Collaborative presentations from WA training institutions and universities on creating flexible pathways for students. 🔹 “Quokka Diplomacy”: Quokka-themed games encouraging engagement with WA's education institutions. Following Malaysia, the roadshow visited Indonesia! So far, sessions have been held in Malang, Gading Serpong, Bandung, Balikpapan, Makssar and Denpasar.
