#throwback to SIEW 2024; so many exciting new developments were announced with one of the biggest being Singapore’s plan to import 6GW of renewable energy by 2035, coming from regional countries like Australia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Cambodia. This includes the country’s plans to standardise RECs across borders for ease of recognition. ⚡️ We fully support this stance, as we believe renewable energy generated is the same everywhere, regardless of its source. By standardising RECs, there will be an increase in market transparency and liquidity, enhanced market confidence, and improved environmental impact. No, it doesn’t mean recordings 😂 RECs, otherwise known as Renewable Energy Certificates, are environmental attributes that certify 1 megawatt-hour (MWh) of electricity was generated from a renewable source and supplied into the grid. RECs are important for businesses to make verified claims of using renewable energy and meeting sustainability reporting requirements. RECs incentivise the generation of renewable energy as well, because energy producers can receive additional revenue from issuing them to markets or government programmes. Last month, we organised our first-ever Neighbourhood Clean-up event together with our friends from Stridy! 🫴🏻🗑️ We ended up with way more trash than what we expected. In just a span of an hour, we picked up a total of 12.6kg (and a gazillion cigarette butts). 😱 As a country, we are constantly being praised for being a clean city, but in actual fact, it’s more like a “cleaned city” with our own “army” of cleaners who ensure the streets are free from litter every day. Let us all make a conscious effort to minimise single-use items from our daily lives, and prevent the build-up of waste as much as possible. #FloEnergy #FloEnergySG #Stridy #singapore #cleanup

Earth Hour is a time when all individuals and organisations come together to raise awareness to the issues of climate change, by switching off all non-esssential lights and appliances for a whole hour. 🌎 We know the annual Earth Hour is only happening tomorrow evening and we pledge our support as well by participating in the global "switch-off".
