Only 33% of nature-related policies published since the Paris Agreement have allocated budgets. That’s the reality revealed by the 2024 Policy Tracker from Nature4Climate, which analyzed over 1,300 policies across 190 countries. While some progress has been made—40% of new policies reviewed this year included budgets or financing for nature-based solutions (NbS)—the gap between commitments and actionable funding remains stark. Here's the reality: ➡️ Nature-based solutions offer a cost-effective, triple-win strategy for tackling climate change, protecting biodiversity, and advancing sustainable development goals. Yet governments continue to underfund them, with global finance flows to activities harming nature still 30X times larger than those supporting them. Nature-based solutions are the ultimate triple win—fighting climate change, protecting biodiversity, and advancing sustainable development.
