GIA Singapore and Life Insurance Association Singapore issued a joint statement yesterday on National Registration Identity Card (NRIC) numbers and collectively assure policyholders that NRIC numbers alone cannot be used to purchase, surrender or alter existing policies, submit policy claims, nor change the nominated beneficiary or bank account information lodged with the insurer for receipt of policy payments.
