Mélanie Copeland, Digital Transformation RCAANC-CIRNAC, Canada looks to answer two questions in her work. One is how can we make it easier and simpler for Indigenous peoples of Canada to interact with government services, and the other is how can we support our internal staff in delivering better client experiences. 🌠 She shares that she is fascinated with how organisations determine and manage their tolerance to risk. It is one of the first things I assess when joining a new department or team – how far can I push it before I get pushback, she says and adds that she’s come to the conclusion that there is no prefect formula to figuring out where that line is. For Denise Wong, Generative AI (#GenAI) is a relatively new phenomenon, and #Singapore has made early moves in the #artificialintelligence (AI) safety space. 🖥️ Singapore has engaged with industry partners to drive the AI Verify Foundation and co-create key AI governance initiatives that are both practical and implementable such as the Model AI Governance Framework.  She notes that #AI is a game-changer for the public sector. It offers opportunities for enhanced efficiency, data-driven decision-making, and personalised citizen services. However, it also presents challenges in ethics, privacy, and public trust. The key is to harness AI's potential while addressing these challenges through robust governance frameworks. As Director Systems Engineering and C3 Centre, Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), Singapore, Chia Wan Yin supports other agencies beyond defence, including working with the Ministry of Transport’s Technology Office as well as with the Ministry of Manpower during the Covid-19 pandemic. 💫 "When implementing technology, be it for citizens or certain users, the key considerations include the environment in which it would be applied, and enhancements in user experience," she shares in GovInsider's 2024 Women in GovTech report.
