SupplyAlly
Nonprofit Software
SupplyAlly (Sally) was first developed as a mobile app to help the Singapore Government in the mask distribution exercise in April 2020. Sally was built to handle nationwide distribution across multiple locations with the ability to keep track of whether a person receiving an item has received it before. It digitalises the otherwise cumbersome distribution process that required manual recording of an individual’s entitlement and redemption status. Today, we have more than 8,000 users on the Sally app and have also collaborated with vending machine partners to distribute millions of items such as TraceTogether Tokens, masks, laptops, meals, self-testing kits and vouchers to Singapore residents. If you are part of a Government agency or a non-profit organisation that needs help to digitalise your distribution programmes, we would love to help you. Although there is a vast amount of news and information available online today, most of it is catered to adults and can be difficult for students, especially those with reading difficulties, to understand. This was a problem statement Mr Zhang, a secondary school teacher, submitted during a hackathon. In response, an AI-powered tool to help students simplify complex words and sentences was developed. The tool, Simpler, also provides multiple outputs based on the student's reading level. "I reached out to Noah, and then we started a conversation on the problem, which is, how do you help students be able to read and understand better the things that they read?" shared Sau Sheong Chang GovTech Deputy Chief Executive, who conceptualised the solution overnight. Simpler is being trialled for 134 students, and Ministry of Education, Singapore (MOE)'s Information Technology Division plans to enhance it further. #AI #TechForPublicGood #GovTechSG
