𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙥 𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙣 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙖𝙩 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙣 𝙒𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙡! The mascot appearance was undoubtedly a highlight for the children, bringing joy and excitement to their faces. The unique and fun game room was also a hit, offering a variety of activities such as Slime making, a Movie theatre, a cotton candy station, and a challenging cup-stacking game that kept everyone engaged and entertained. I'd like to extend my appreciation to all the volunteers who worked tirelessly to decorate the venue and provide exceptional care to the children. Their dedication and hard work made a significant difference in creating a memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. It was truly heartwarming to see the children smile and have fun, and I feel grateful to have been a part of this special day. As an employee of Guardian, I'm proud to be part of a company that values corporate social responsibility and encourages staff to contribute to meaningful causes.

Another busy but well spent weekend for our Guardian pharmacists! The World Diabetes Day 2024 Event, organised by Diabetes Singapore, was held on 9 - 10 November 2024 at the Toa Payoh HDB Hub Atrium. Mdm Rahayu Mahzam, Minister of State for Health and Communications & Information, graced the event as Guest-of-Honour. Guardian Singapore was invited by BUZUD to participate in their health screening booth for our Pharmacy Team to provide result interpretation, health advice and recommend further referral, if needed. Our pharmacists and pre-reg pharmacists were on site to provide counseling and address any of the participants’ questions and concerns. It was also my pleasure to have been invited to give a short talk on tips in managing and understanding medications and highlighting the roles of our community pharmacists. Overall, the event was very well-received (the consultations were non-stop!) and we are happy to have been able to be there and give trusted advice! 😀 I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to Mr Frankie fan and Ms Brilynne Zhang for the collaboration and Mr Satyaprakash TIWARI for the trust in our pharmacists providing the much needed professional advice. A big congratulations to Guardian Singapore for all the Singapore Retailers Association Excellent Service Award 2024 winners! The award ceremonies were held on 30 October and 1 November 2024 at Nanyang Polytechnic. This year, we had 74 Star, 42 Gold and 104 Silver Award winners. I am happy to share that 31 of our Pharmacy Team members received the award this year (12 Star, 3 Gold & 16 Silver Awards)! This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team in providing excellent service to our customers, on top of trusted health advice. Kudos to all our Guardian Community Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians! 😀 The SRA award season culminated in a Gala Night held at Hilton Singapore Orchard on 7 November 2024. I am happy to share that one of our pharmacists, Mr Shun Ern Tay was one of the speakers at the Alliance of Patients’ Organisations Singapore (APOS) Closed Door Meeting held on 29 October 2024. Great job, Shun Ern! 😀 He shared on the safe and proper use of medicines, specifically on completing courses of antibiotics and compliance in taking chronic medicines, reading labels and highlighting medicine side effects. The event was attended by more than 30 representatives and leaders from patient organizations in Singapore registered under Ministry of Health (Singapore). We would like to thank Ms Nidhi Swarup for the invitation and for Mr Soo Ying Zhou for the link up and allowing us to share information from the MOH’s Know Your Meds series. I am elated to share that trained community pharmacists are now able to provide flu vaccination services under a sandbox initiative by the Ministry of Health (Singapore)! In an effort to expand access to influenza vaccination in the community, eligible members of the public may receive their annual flu jabs at 3 retail pharmacies - Guardian Singapore at Serangoon NEX included! https://lnkd.in/dgxWgjSX The sandbox was launched yesterday by none other than the Health Minister himself, Mr Ong Ye Kung. It was a memorable morning where the pharmacy community gathered together to celebrate this milestone as one ‘Pharmily’! We are very excited to take this step in supporting preventive care efforts and moving towards collaborating more with our primary care partners as part of a multidisciplinary team, all aligned towards the goal of a Healthier SG. Saturday afternoon spent at the Pharmacy Technician Community of Practice (PTCoP) Pharmacy Technician Day 2024 celebrations held at Republic Polytechnic! This is the 3rd edition of the event and the first time it’s held in-person. In attendance were Chief Pharmacist Dr camilla wong, Pharmacy Technicians from various private and public institutions, Pharmaceutical Science students and some pharmacy managers and faculty members. Dr Rumina Önaç, Deborah Chia and Lena L. were some of the keynote speakers at the event, sharing on sustainability in healthcare. Guardian Singapore is proud to have been part of this event not only as one of the sponsors but also to be able to have 4 of our PTs attend the event! We are happy to support initiatives aimed at further developing and celebrating the significant contributions our Pharmacy Technicians have made in our pharmacy operations.
