Team Light Collab visited Punggol coast MRT station with our lighting collaborators, Scott Cham from Strongly Lighting and Antonio Pentangelo from Linea Light Group and architect Shyue-Jiun Woon. It was nice to get together to celebrate the completion of the project together!

We are honoured to be part of this journey of pushing the standards for MRT station lighting, bringing out the architecture, illuminating such large volume of space and added to our portfolio another project type!
Today marks the long-awaited debut of Punggol Coast Station (PGC) — a groundbreaking project that reimagines the future of MRT design. Over the past eight years, I’ve had the honor of leading LTA ARCH in-house design team for this ambitious project, guiding it from concept to completion. PGC isn’t just an underground station — it’s a seamless extension of the Punggol Digital District (PDD). At its heart is the Open Civic Common, Singapore’s first naturally ventilated sunken courtyard within an MRT station. With amphitheater-style seating, it serves as both a social hub and a shared space for the community. The station’s layout centers on a central Passenger Service Centre, inspired by the panopticon concept to enable easy monitoring and timely assistance. As the station’s “Genius Loci”, it fosters intuitive, commuter-friendly navigation throughout. Inspired by mangrove forests, PGC’s architectural centerpiece features 11 mega-columns that branch into root-like beams, all expressed in raw off-form concrete. This bold, nature-inspired design pays homage to Punggol’s coastal heritage while showcasing architectural honesty and strength. Built for adaptability and future needs, PGC embodies the principle of “form follows function.” It’s not just a station — it’s a landmark for connection, community, and forward-thinking design. I’m incredibly proud to have played a part in shaping this icon of modern infrastructure.

&Larry is proud to share our latest completed project for the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). While this project started in 2021, it wouldn't be wrong to say that its roots were in our earlier spatial branding work for Singapore Economic Development Board in 2012, and then for Government Investment Corporation (GIC) in 2016. Having helped both EDB and GIC tell their part in the story of Singapore's economic and financial transformation, it was our privilege to do so once more for MAS. Through a rigorous process of stakeholder interviews and focus groups, we were able to craft an authentic and meaningful narrative for MAS, realised in a series of installations situated throughout the 29th floor of the MAS Building, capturing the spirit of concepts such as the MAS corporate values and its unique duality as both a regulator and a supporter of innovation. Beyond consulting on the materiality and colours of the overall space, we also guided the re-planning of the office spaces, managing to carve out a new purpose built recording studio, while also modernising the aesthetics of the Boardroom, Conference Room, Visitor Room and more. As the lead consultant for the project, we oversaw the tender process and evaluation, and also worked tireless with the builders to ensure the highest possible levels of detailing, fit and finish. We also worked closely with our lighting consultant Light Collab and The Artling to coordinate the conservation of existing pieces in the MAS art collection, as well as to commission and acquire new artworks from both young and established Singaporean artists of note. <Project Archive> Neo Garden Headquarters at 30b Quality Road, Singapore Client envisioned the new 10 storey flagship headquarters to be high tech and will consolidate it operations, central kitchens, offices, warehouse, logistics and storage facilities and other food and beverage operations in one location. Started in 2018, we were working on the illumination design for facade and exterior lighting and was finally completed last quarter of 2022. Founder Mr Neo envisioned the facade lighting to be one that is playful and full of colours, to showcase the vibrant culture of the company. Light Collab worked closely with ID Architects to conceal and incorporate lighting into the aluminium panels and detailing.
