I earned Emirates Platinum status this week, and the airline informed me of the milestone using data in the most magical way possible. As my flight arrived in Kuala Lumpur, the cabin manager handed me a personalized Platinum welcome kit containing a letter, membership card, and bag tags. "You made it to Platinum status. Congratulations. This is for you." That flight was THE FLIGHT that tipped me over the 150,000 miles for the year to earn Platinum status. So, I received the welcome kit immediately upon reaching the goal. Not a week later in the mail... but instantly. This is an incredible example of airline data being used brilliantly to create magical moments for their top customers. All very 'Up in the Air' ish. Well done #emirates
