On 17 - 18 Jan, 𝟑𝟔𝟒 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 from 𝟏𝟏𝟗 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 across various pre and tertiary institutions came together to respond to real-world maritime challenges focusing on port efficiency, emission reduction, and vessel safety at the 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓. Co-organised by National University of Singapore (NUS) Centre for Maritime Studies, NUS Institute of Operations Research and Analytics (IORA), Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) and RightShip, the hackathon aims to inspire innovative ideas in global maritime operations by encouraging collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving using AI, machine learning and data analytics. This year, Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), PSA Singapore, Seatrium, Databricks, Microsoft, and Spire Maritime joined us as event partners to share insights on the diverse opportunities in maritime and equip participants with the skills needed to tackle the challenge statements. Participants engaged with key industry players at career booths set up by the event organising committee and partners, and learned from industry panellists at a fireside chat on the opportunities in maritime.
