Day 1 of the Airport Wildlife Management Course at ERAU Asia is in the books! We started the day by flexing our artistic muscles, drawing our favorite animals—a fun icebreaker that got everyone thinking about the diversity of wildlife we work to manage. The learning quickly took off with introductory modules led by Ruisheng Choo, followed by fascinating insights from Nick Yearwood on the policies and regulations that shape our work in wildlife hazard management. A great mix of creativity and expertise to kickstart the course. Yesterday, we wrapped up another successful Wildlife Identification Training session with Changi Airport Group. Our Wildlife Ecologists, Juliana Chan and Sam Lievense, highlighted the group's enthusiastic and engaging participation. The training featured a mix of classroom learning and practical field exercises, allowing participants to showcase their bird identification skills and practice dispersal techniques in real-world scenarios. A highlight was seeing the group identifying different species flawlessly. We also had the opportunity to watch Simon Newbold expertly disperse a flock of birds. The Mastermark team concluded another impactful Wildlife Hazard Training session at Seletar Airport. Our Wildlife Biologists, Ting Huang Tan and Bernard Koh, were delighted by the participants’ strong engagement and enthusiasm throughout the course.
