1 in 3 youths in Singapore report poor mental health – and they’re not seeking help (as revealed by a recent study from the Institute of Mental Health). In support of Youth Mental Wellness, we launched ‘Lovin’ Me’, designed to support the emotional well-being of YOUTH in Singapore. At the heart of the initiative is the Lovin' Me Anthem, an original song and music video that captures the emotional journey of youth. This gift of song seeks to encourage youths on their mental health journey, that sometimes, it’s OK to not be OK. https://lnkd.in/gKwU_xYV Discussions around mental health should also be normalised. To open up more dialogue around mental health, Lovin’ Me Conversations will launch in November, where mental health advocates and experts discuss key issues impacting youth today. Everyone’s mental health journey is unique. To meet youth at their point of need or support, we created the Lovin’ Me Playbook that features a curated list of resources from 10 local organisations and reminders in the form of digital stickers and wallpapers. Check out our Lovin' Me Playbook: https://lnkd.in/gQ9GQqyt We know growing up isn't easy. It's a time of self-discovery and finding your place in the world amidst societal pressures. We stand with our youth today to take the most important first step - loving yourself! #mcdsg #wmhd2024

What is an internship with one of Singapore’s largest Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) brands like? Our graduating batch of interns received more than the experience of running a global-brand restaurant. Having spent time at least 10 weeks shadowing our Restaurant General Managers, our interns have grown in their own ways – developing their leadership styles and abilities, becoming confidant professionals who are trusted by colleagues and customers alike. We’re so proud of their growth, beyond skills in production and services, crew training and mastery of service management. Many have chosen to continue their journey with us as part-time floor managers, taking on new responsibilities and growing with the team. Keep bringing the energy, dedication, and passion in all that you do, we’re excited to see all the success you’ll achieve! #mcdsg #internship #learning #interns

Our sixth year with our annual Lifelong Learning Carnival – our flagship event featuring two months of immersive learning where we engage our people alongside our learning partners on a breadth of topics! From the latest in digital services and harnessing the power of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) to health tips for physical and mental well-being, this year’s carnival was a 360-learning experience for our employees. This is only made possible with the generous support of our main sponsor and partner SkillsFuture SG, Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI), along with our esteemed partners - IMDA’s SG Digital Office, Health Promotion Board, Ministry of Health (Singapore), NTUC LearningHub, SSA Culinary Institute, and Lunch & Learn Events. Over 800 of our on-ground employees attended insightful talks and explored various learning booths at the venues near their restaurants. Our HQ office employees also participated in sharing sessions, including discussions on GenAI and how it can transform the way we work, from boosting productivity to enhancing customer engagement. We’re already looking forward to next year’s edition and unveiling future trends for lifelong learning! #mcdsg #learninganddevelopment #lifelonglearning #skillsfuturesg

We had the pleasure of joining our industry friends and partners at the HR Learning Fest 2024 on Aug 2! Organised by Singapore Polytechnic and supported by SkillsFuture SG as part of SkillsFuture Festival 2024, this event marked key milestones for us at McDonald's Singapore. Graced by Minister of State of Education and Manpower, Ms. Gan Siow Huang, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Singapore Polytechnic (SP), further strengthening our ongoing collaborations. Through this MOU, we are excited to empower students to reach their full potential through educational programmes such as training guidance and internship opportunities. We’re also excited for SP’s new SkillsFuture SG (SSG)-Funded Workshops, including the “Effective Leadership Skills for First-Line Managers” workshop that we proudly co-developed! This initiative is one of the many ways in which we extend support with partners to equip talents with practical skills and strategies. During the event, our Head of People, Lynn Hong, shared about our Ground-up People-Centric strategies at McDonald’s Singapore and engaged in insightful panel discussions with fellow partners, exploring key challenges and sparking innovative possibilities and learnings for all. We believe in the important role that HR plays in fostering a culture of lifelong learning and driving the business – here’s to nurturing growth and inspiring HR professionals of tomorrow! #McDSG #HRLearningFest2024 #HRInnovation #SkillFutureFestival #HRExcellence

Here at McDonald's Singapore, learning never stops. Last month, we sent 17 of our managers “back to school”! As part of our comprehensive employee development programmes, we enrolled them in a fully sponsored WSQ Diploma in Food Services. In partnership with Asian Culinary Institute (Lifelong Learning with Nanyang Polytechnic), they will be engaging in a series of modules such as Menu Engineering, Managing Productivity Improvements, over the course of one year. With the support of their teams and our flexible work arrangements, our managers are able to pursue their passions while continuing to work full-time. Empowering our employees to upskill and grow is a key priority for us, and we are excited to see their learning journey unfold! #mcdsg #employeedevelopment #upskilling #careergrowth #fwas

“Chance made us colleagues... but McDonald's made us close friends.” In celebration of International Friendship Day, we shine a spotlight on one of the many friendships that have blossomed here. Meet Boon Ching and Ming Soon, who first met in school and have shared 14 years (and counting) with us! Since their early days as students, they have grown into remarkable leadership roles – constantly uplifting and cheering each other on through work milestones, celebrating many achievements along the way. Their long-standing friendship is testament to the power of a strong support system and the warm culture that is uniquely McDonald's Singapore. International Friendship Day may come just once a year, but the camaraderie and bond that we share is one we celebrate every day. Cheers to the friendships that make our workdays brighter and our wins even more meaningful! #mcdsg #internationalfriendshipday #people
