Mitsui & Co. (Asia Pacific) Pte. Ltd. (MAP) has established WISE (Workplace Insights, Support, and Empowerment), the first Employee Resource Group at MAP. Founded by six women, WISE aims to empower and advance women through a supportive ecosystem of networking, learning, and growth opportunities. On July 12, 2024, WISE held a networking event, featuring an interactive workshop on self-confidence led by Executive Coach Sophie Chen, ICF ACC. Participants learned practical techniques for boosting their confidence and applying it effectively in the workplace.   Since its inception, WISE has hosted workshops and monthly networking sessions that focus on confidence building, leadership development, and overcoming challenges, with insights from senior female leaders and industry experts. With our spirits as bright as our neon orange t-shirts, over 80 staff and their families from Mitsui & Co. (Asia Pacific) Pte. Ltd. and 3 Mitsui group affiliates – Mitsui & Co. Energy Trading Singapore, Orient Marine Co., Ltd. Singapore branch and Portek International Pte Ltd, participated in the Community Chest Heartstrings Walk on 24 August. This charity walk was a significant milestone, marking the first joint event among the four Mitsui group companies.  United by a shared commitment to supporting vulnerable communities in Singapore, our participation fees will directly fund over 200 critical  social service programs, benefiting children with special needs, youth-at-risk, adults with disabilities, and more. As we walked along the Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade, we were captivated by the stunning views and the strong sense of unity in working towards a more caring and inclusive society. We are excited to announce that a consortium comprising Mainstream Renewable Power, Reventus Power, AGL and DIRECT Infrastructure has recently secured a feasibility licence for a 2.5 GW offshore wind development off the coast of Victoria, Australia!   Mitsui & Co., Ltd. has been a strategic investor in Mainstream Renewable Power since 2022. We are excited to announce Hiringa Refuelling New Zealand Limited (“HRNZ”), which we invested in September 2021, held an opening ceremony on 23rd Apr 2024 to launch its network of green hydrogen refuelling stations for hydrogen-powered heavy vehicles in New Zealand.   HRNZ, with support from the New Zealand Government agency Energy Efficiency & Conservation Authority, will initially operate four hydrogen refuelling stations in the North Island, located next to logistics hubs in major cities, to supply green hydrogen to the country’s commercial and heavy duty vehicles.   Takashi Furutani, Chief Operating Officer of Mitsui’s Asia Pacific Business Unit & CEO of Mitsui & Co. (Asia Pacific), who attended the launch said: “I am thrilled that we could hold the opening ceremony after overcoming various challenges such as delays in the delivery of equipment due to the COVID pandemic.   “This is a big milestone - the establishment of the first-ever hydrogen refuelling station network to supply green hydrogen in the Oceania region.”   Mitsui believes New Zealand is an ideal market to develop and commercialize green hydrogen as a next generation fuel and to decarbonize heavy duty vehicles.   The project aligns with Mitsui’s ‘Global Energy Transition’, a core part of ‘Energy Solutions’ strategy in Mitsui’s Medium-Term Management Plan, which aims to respond to the growing trend toward decarbonization by promoting cleaner forms of energy including next generation fuels such as hydrogen.   For more information, please refer to: Hiringa Energy website: https://lnkd.in/g7SSCwB3 Hiringa Energy LinkedIn: https://lnkd.in/gx5i6Vhg   #mitsui #Sustainability #decarbonization #Hydrogen
