It has been a week since I launched MRA Consulting and it’s been a lot of fun so far. I’ve spent the time connecting with clients, ex-colleagues and many others who have given a huge amount of support and encouragement for what I am doing. Embarking on this journey is not without its challenges but I am heartened by the overwhelming positive feedback I have received.
My sincere thanks to each one of you who has reached out – it has validated my vision behind MRA Consulting and inspired me for the future.
One of the most rewarding aspects of this journey has been the opportunity to connect with other professionals in the fractional consulting space. The collaborative spirit and exchange of ideas have been truly inspiring.
Auspicious Beginnings
I chose the launch date of MRA Consulting to be 28th October 2024 for a specific reason. Most of us are aware that last week, Hindus around the work celebrated the festival of Diwali or Deepavali. The festival emphasizes the victory of dharma (virtues) over adharma, good over evil, light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance. Deepavali is a Sanskrit word that means deepa (oil lamps) and wali (row) - it literally means the row of oil lamps and is why it is also known as the Festival of Lights. During my 27 years in Asia, this has always been one of my favourite festivals, with the bright colours, sweets and lights bringing joy to the community.
It is an auspicious time for Hindus, bringing luck and prosperity. It marks new beginnings and this time of year felt apt for me to embark on my new beginning. The first day of the Diwali celebration is the festival of Vasu Baras, which fell this year on 28th October. Vasu Baras, in particular, is a day that celebrates prosperity and abundance. I feel I couldn’t have picked a better day to launch.
Looking Forward
I am excited about the future and look forward to forging stronger connections across Asia Pacific and beyond. Thank you to everyone who has supported me in this initial phase.
