As a long-time advocate for safe and proper housing for our migrant workers, we are pleased to learn that our calls for better dormitory standards have been heard with MOM's announcement of the upcoming government-built dormitories. These innovative dorms represent a significant step toward providing our migrant brothers with the dignity and comfort they deserve. At MWC, we’re proud to have contributed to this milestone through consultation efforts alongside our migrant worker ambassadors. Earlier this year, a mock-up dormitory room was set up at MWC Recreation Club @ Soon Lee, where our ambassadors shared valuable insights and feedback on the design. Their input helped refine the dormitory layout to better address workers' practical needs while embracing innovation. This platform also empowered them to propose ideas for future living spaces for their peers. Our ambassadors play an essential role—not only as event supporters but as leaders and voices from the ground. Their perspectives ensure that new developments remain focused on the real needs of migrant workers, making them active participants in shaping their own futures. This development highlights the power of collaboration between government agencies, NGOs, industry leaders, and the workers themselves. We hope these new standards will inspire other dormitory operators across the industry to elevate housing standards for migrant workers. Here’s what went down at the #WorldsTogether event! 🌍🎉 Worlds Together is a global social impact initiative by Heineken organized in partnership with Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore (Part of The HEINEKEN Company), where our very own MWC ambassadors were part of the planning process! 🤝🎳 Aimed at fostering connections with the migrant community in Singapore, our migrant brothers had a great time at the event bonding with APB staff over a bowling session, BBQing together and conversations during dinner 🍽️ A huge thanks to Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore for this amazing partnership! 🙌 We’re excited for the upcoming events in the works—stay tuned for more ✨ #MWC #mwccelebrates

✨ Organised by the Hindu Endowments Board (HEB), MWC proudly supported the Purattasi Annadhanam event last week, where 5,000 meals were provided to migrant workers and migrant domestic workers 🍛 Volunteers from HEB-administered temples, alongside MWC Ambassadors Centre for Domestic Employees (CDE) volunteers, served meals to the attendees at PGP Hall 🙌 Such initiatives are a meaningful way to express our appreciation for the contributions of the migrant community in Singapore, and we are deeply grateful for the opportunity to participate 💙 If you are interested in partnering with us for future events or activities in support of migrant workers, please reach out to us 📩 Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gFBRr8RG

When we hear about the migrant experience in Singapore, the stories often portray their struggles and difficulties in Singapore. Those experiences are real and valid but often inspire sympathy instead of empathy towards the migrant community. We at MWC also want to shed light on another side — how our migrant brothers live beyond work, pursuing their passions in their free time! 🎨🎶 ✨ Introducing MWC After Hours ✨, a new series celebrating migrant workers in Singapore and their diverse hobbies! For our first episode, let's meet Ajay, a calisthenics enthusiast who has stunned us with his athletic abilities 💪 If you know any migrant workers with cool hobbies (it could be someone who enjoys cooking, music or arts) that you’d like us to feature next, send us a message! - MWC is also on the lookout for volunteers! If you’d like to make a difference in the lives of our migrant brothers, you can sign up here: bit.ly/MWCVOLUNTEER 🙌 #MWC #MWCAfterHours

🎉 We held a Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration with our migrant brothers last Sunday!🏮 Honored to have Brother Patrick Tay Teck Guan, Assistant Secretary-General for NTUC and Member of Parliament for Pioneer SMC, join us as the Guest-of-Honour. Our brothers enjoyed fun stage games and took home mooncakes and goodie bags! 🌕🎁 Big thanks to The Salvation Army Singapore and POSB for their support with the event, and of course, our kind donors 🙌 🌏 While our migrant brothers are working hard in Singapore, such festivals may remind them that they are away home and their families. Events such as these help to bring everyone closer together foster a sense of belonging for the migrant community in Singapore 💖 If you're keen to work together with us and organise such events, we'd love to hear from you! Drop us a message and we'll get in touch 🤝 #MWCCelebrates #MidAutumnFestival 🌟

✨ A heartfelt THANK YOU to all our guests, partners and Guest-of-Honour NTUC Secretary-General Ng Chee Meng for joining us at the Migrant Workers Segment Partners' Appreciation — a night dedicated to celebrating the incredible support and contributions of our valued partners in uplifting the lives of migrant workers in Singapore. Each of you plays a critical role in this journey, and we are deeply grateful for your unwavering commitment. 📢 We're excited to announce that NTUC has committed $2.5 million to boost welfare and upskilling opportunities for migrant workers! 🎉 Through this fund, MWC will provide courses that open doors for career advancement, support migrant-led activities at our recreation centres, and distribute appreciation gift bags filled with essentials to help ease their cost of living. This initiative underscores NTUC’s ongoing dedication to ensuring that every worker, regardless of where they come from, has the chance to grow, thrive, and feel appreciated. 🙌 We invite you to join us in making a meaningful impact on the lives of our migrant workers.
