Earlier this afternoon, the National Arts Council unveiled the 2025 line up during a media conference where our SAW partners and artists shared key highlight programmes with media friends. Over the years, SAW has become a dynamic platform where art engages the public, and creativity sparks conversations. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect and share insights with one another, and we look forward to working together to continue growing #OurSGArts ecosystem in the year ahead. How can #OurSGArts stay resilient as we rebuild and strengthen the arts ecosystem? Last month, NAC Chief Executive Mr Eng Teong LOW shared his insights at the 5th International Arts Leadership Roundtable organised by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. Themed “Art or No Art? Does It Matter?”, Low spoke about harnessing opportunities for the arts in the creative economy, and how the National Arts Council nurtures opportunities that champion the growth and long-term sustainability of the arts sector. These efforts include growing artistic excellence and building a larger audience base by creating multiple capability pathways for arts practitioners, forging new partnerships, and expanding internationalisation efforts. During his trip, he also connected with the international arts community at the inaugural Hong Kong Performance Arts Expo, where NAC hosted a networking session to facilitate opportunities for Singapore arts practitioners to engage with arts producers, presenters and practitioners from around the world. What a year it has been for our busking community! Sharing some photos from our final Buskers Connect session in November 2024 where the National Arts Council shared more information on enhancements made to the busking scheme, announced new busking locations to be onboarded in the coming months and provided clarifications on sound-level guidelines amongst other updates. We are grateful for the busking community’s active participation in shaping the development of #OurSGArts through their creative expressions. As we look forward to 2025, we're excited about the opportunities to further enliven Singapore through busking. For more information on the engagement session, visit https://lnkd.in/g_cD4Emb.

We recently gathered to celebrate Deepavali as #oneNAC! 🪔 Colleagues enjoyed a delightful array of festive snacks and sweets such as murukku and mysore pak, and indulged in freshly brewed masala chai. Celebrations included a hands-on activity where staff had fun making Deepavali-themed shrink art for keepsakes, and many enjoyed getting their hands decorated with intricate henna designs. A big thank you to our Recreation and Social Committee for organising this celebration, and to all our colleagues who joined in the fun. ✨
