Chee-Yann Wong, CIO of Northstar Group, commented: “Under Brett Henry’s leadership, MG Group successfully navigated the Covid pandemic’s significant impact on the hospitality sector during 2020-22, and emerged stronger than before. They did that by taking the opportunity to digitalize operations, which improved productivity substantially, and established global strategic partnerships, such that MG Group delivered strong profitable growth from 2023. Highlights from Northstar Group’s 18th Annual Investor Conference: On 3 December 2024, we had the honor of hosting Northstar’s 18th Annual Investor Conference in Jakarta. It was an inspiring day filled with meaningful discussions, fresh perspectives, and valuable insights from some of the most influential voices in the industry. The event began with a compelling keynote by Thomas A. M. Djiwandono, Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Finance. Muliaman Hadad and Pandu Sjahrir from Danantara, Indonesia's newly established sovereign wealth fund, shared their perspectives on its transformative role in driving sustainable growth and unlocking investment opportunities across the nation. This was followed by an engaging discussion on navigating transformation, led by Vikram Sinha (Indosat) and Patrick Walujo (GoTo and Northstar). We also drew inspiration from some of our early-stage company founders in Northstar Ventures I, including Syifail Ramadhana (Orange Dental), Honey Mittal (Locofy.ai), and Hiep Nguyen (AI Hay). Additionally, insights from financial services leaders such as Goklas Rajagukguk (BFI), Lei Chen (Advance Intelligence Group), and Pavel Fedorov (Salmon) added significant value to the discussions.
