Earlier this year, we launched our NFC Learning Vision: To Enable Bright Futures as a People-First Organisation that Embraces a Growth Mindset and Promotes a Learning Culture. At the heart of this vision is our refreshed Leadership Development Framework, which powers our targeted leadership training programmes. These initiatives ensure our team stays at the forefront of early childhood education, equipped with the skills needed to prepare our children for the future. Four such programmes have recently concluded, and we’re excited to see the positive impact they will have on their teams and the wider community. Congratulations to all the graduates—exciting times ahead! 💫

Having recently concluded a trip to Xi'an, China, 22 of our colleagues returned with a wealth of insights, inspirations and fresh perspectives. During this one-week learning journey, our educators visited five local preschools, participated in conferences, and attended an Orff music workshop, gaining a new perspective on early childhood education within a rich cultural context. Dr Connie Lum, Director of Mother Tongue Language Curriculum and Professional Development at NTUC First Campus, was invited to share insights on Singapore's "Quality Framework and Implementation of Early Childhood Education for 0-3 year olds" with over 140 principals and lead teachers from the region. The session sparked enthusiastic discussions and meaningful exchanges that left a lasting impact. "It was a refreshing experience to see how preschools integrate learning with culture, history, and technology, all while emphasising children's play experiences and self-exploration," shared Amanda Loke, Assistant Deputy Centre Leader at My First Skool. Zhou Yitong, Senior Chinese Teacher at My First Skool also reflected on a powerful message shared by one principal: “园长所说的一句话始终萦绕在我心头:‘孩子在,老师在;老师不在,孩子也要在。’意思是说即使老师牺牲了,也要保住孩子!这让我深刻意识到,作为教育工作者,不仅要传授知识,更要肩负起对孩子们的守护和关爱。” which translates to “The principal’s words have stayed with me—‘As long as the children are here, the teachers are here; even if teachers aren’t here, the children must still be here.’ This means that even in the face of sacrifice, the children’s safety is paramount. This deeply reminded me that, as educators, our role goes beyond teaching—we hold the responsibility of protecting and caring for the children.” A huge thank you to the preschools in Xi’an for their incredible hospitality! We’re excited to bring these insights back home and further our mission of enabling #brightfutures for every child! #ntucfirstcampus #myfirstskool #earlychildhoodeducation
