🌟Thoroughly enjoyed my Basic Counselling Skills course with Gerald Boh over the weekend! Who knew that learning about observation and listening skills in application to counselling could be this much fun? Developing strong observation skills can significantly enhance empathy - 🎭 By honing our observation and listening skills, we can decode behavior and spot emotions like fear, anger, sadness, and happiness with higher precision. 🤐 Most information is communicated through non-verbal cues, such as body language, and para language, which refers to how the message is being conveyed (as compared to what is said). Surprisingly, only 7% of communication is through verbal means. 🦹 Understanding the intricate dance between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors gives us the superpower to unravel the motivations behind people's actions. The session was a riot of laughter and learning, packed with interactive exercises that made the whole experience enjoyable! 🌼 #counselling #ActiveListening #empathy #observation Photos by me (taken at The School of Positive Psychology)
