About us

Established in 2013, The Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) is Singapore’s main authority body for administering the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2012. With an understanding of the public’s concern on the collection, use and disclosure of their personal data, the PDPA ensures a baseline standard for personal data protection in Singapore. This includes putting in place policies and releasing advisory guidelines to help organisation practice responsible data use and sharing, as well as undertaking public and sector-specific outreach activities to educate both organisations and individuals on their roles and responsibilities in safeguarding personal data. The PDPA not only strives to foster an environment of trust amongst businesses and consumers but also aims to strengthen Singapore’s competitiveness as a trusted, world-class business hub.
