Covering over 10,000 hectares in southern Vietnam’s Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu province, this nature reserve is the country’s only remaining coastal primary forest. 🌱🌲 Together with local community members and conservationists, our colleagues learnt about sustainable planting techniques for this purposeful initiative. The event was strongly supported by local authorities and conservation partners as it marked a positive step towards preserving Vietnam’s natural heritage. 🔭🌐 Putting on our “Future-Focused” lens, this tree-planting activity reaffirms our long-term commitment to environmental stewardship. By restoring local biodiversity, combating deforestation, and fostering a resilient ecosystem, PIL is taking action to drive a sustainable future! #PIL #PacificInternationalLines #FutureFocused #Sustainability #Nature

  • 𝗞𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲 🛶🌲 On 9 November, 22 PIL colleagues from head office put on their Future-Focused lens and embarked on a kayaking adventure to the mangrove forest at Pulau Ubin, an island located in northeastern Singapore! 🚣♀️🚣♂️ Co-organised by PIL's recreation club in Singapore, Club Pacific, and experience design specialist Asian Detours, our colleagues received a guided tour through one of Singapore's last, and also the country's largest mangrove areas. After a safety check of their personal floating devices, the team launched their kayaks into the water and paddled towards the mouth of an estuary where the mangroves were located. 🌲🦅🐟 As the team entered the estuary, the instructor from Asian Detours shared that the trees our colleagues were seeing are red mangroves, typically found in coastal areas. The instructor also pointed out to them the nest of a white-bellied sea eagle, the largest bird of prey in Singapore, as they spotted the eagle circling the skies looking for its prey. Close to the roots of the mangroves, our colleagues saw small fishes swimming around, showing how mangroves are good nurseries to growing marine life! 🔭🌱 At PIL, our "Future-Focused" commitment means that sustainability is at the core of what we do. Through this kayaking adventure, our colleagues gained new knowledge about the mangrove ecosystem, saw for themselves the biodiversity that mangroves help to support, and got a better appreciation of what nature has to offer! By enhancing our colleagues' green mindset, we also empower them to drive a more sustainable future in their work and daily lives! #PIL #PacificInternationalLines #FutureFocused #Sustainability #Nature
