Designed and constructed by Jiangnan Shipyard, Kota Ebony is the largest vessel in PIL’s fleet alongside its sister ships, Kota Eagle and Kota Emerald! 👏🎉 🙋♀️💪 At a ceremony held at Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai, the vessel was named "Kota Ebony" by Mrs Giselle Kastrup, the wife of Mr Lars Kastrup, CEO of PIL. The name Kota Ebony represents strength and elegance, reflecting the vessel's robust capabilities and modern, optimised hull design. 🌱📈 Together with our other 14,000 TEU series of vessels, Kota Ebony features an optimised hull form and a high reefer capacity which are ideal for the Latin American trade, as well as various features that help to reduce emissions, improve safety, and enhance operations efficiency. With Kota Eagle and Kota Emerald already operating successfully on our Latin America service network, Kota Ebony will soon be added to reinforce our East Coast Latin America service. 🌎🌐 🗣💬 Mr Lars Kastrup said, "We are thrilled to welcome Kota Ebony, our third 14K vessel to our fleet. These efficient dual-fuel vessels enable us to further bolster our services and support the growing trade between China and Latin America. Our fourth 14K TEU vessel is expected in the coming months, and will be joined by another 14 dual-fuel, biomethane-capable vessels which will be delivered progressively over 2025 and the subsequent years. This significant investment represents PIL’s ongoing efforts at fleet renewal as well as our unwavering commitment to making shipping more environmentally sustainable as we chart our way to achieve net zero emissions by 2050." 💚 Read the full press release here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gy6ZD3s3 #PIL #PacificInternationalLines #KotaEbony #Shipping #Sustainability #LNG

After months of collaboration and mentorship with our colleagues, the students recently had a chance to present the fruits of their labour and share their learning experiences with PIL! 📚➡🚢 Through this initiative, we empowered the students to apply their school learning to real-world problems as set out in the three projects, augmented by regular meetings with our colleague-mentors who provided constructive feedback and shared reading materials with them. As the students worked closely with PIL on projects involving blue carbon, alternative materials for a shipping container’s floor, and designing a company mascot, they also gained a deeper understanding and interest about the dynamic shipping sector. Our colleagues were heartened to see how far they have come, and they were also truly impressed by the fresh, ingenuous ideas from the young minds! 💡👦 🔭🤝 This pilot partnership with Beatty Secondary School is testament to how PIL is Future-Focused on building a strong talent pipeline for the maritime industry. We are committed to investing in such People-Centric programmes that provide opportunities for the future generation to grow and develop valuable skill sets. We hope that these young talents would be inspired to join our exciting industry in the future! 🚢🌐 #PIL #PacificInternationalLines #DrivingConnectivity #PeopleCentric #FutureFocused
